Serbia v England (Sun, 20:00 BST)

    England

England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford on whether he is surprised about the big changes in the squad: "No, I think every two years in tournaments there is a lot of change, new talented lads playing well for their club, and that's not a headache for me. It's more for the manager, but that's what he would want, having the ability to pick a lot of different people."

On England manager Gareth Southgate: "For me, he has been really good, since Under-21 level, but it's about me performing for my club and I think when I put the England shirt on I perform. It's about me stepping up, each time I put the Three Lions shirt on, and being my best."

When they're talented, I can help them, guide them, because I can see the full pitch and just my communication is hopefully a key to help them. That's what I think I'm good at. They know what they're doing in front of me."

  3. 'The senior lads have got to help those younger ones'published at 14:40 British Summer Time 14 June

Serbia v England (Sun, 20:00 BST)

    England

Goalkeeper Jordan Pickford on the blend of England's squad: "I think we've got the right balance [between experience and youth]. With experience we can help the younger lads who haven't had as many caps but everyone has different experiences through their own football careers.

"Some of the lads who are newer have been to major tournaments at younger levels and you have got to go away from home for a while. Everyone has been through those experiences. The senior lads, we have got to help those younger lads if needs be, but they are top players, they don't need much help."

Anyone who's in the England squad is there for what they have done for their club. Everyone is fighting for a spot. Whoever plays, we are always ready and prepared. That's what the manager and the staff do. They get us ready and prepared for whoever it is."

Euro 2024 has officially arrived in Stuttgart, where last night the official Fan Zone in Schlossplatz opened with a huge music festival.

Everything from dancers, performers, food and drinks stalls, to famous German DJs, the square was full of celebration in what has already been a brilliant host city.

Stuttgart has pulled out all of the stops and I've thoroughly enjoyed my time here as they gear up to the city's first match which will take place on Sunday between Denmark and Slovenia.

As well as daily big-screen matches at Schlossplatz, there's a family-friendly area at Marktplatz, cultural showcases at Karlsplatz and festivals at Schillerplatz.

There's also random street events and a free football exhibit at the Stadtpalais which has light-up football boots, a giant trophy and other artistic features. A floral mosaic of the Henry Delaunay trophy (the official Euros trophy) is on display near the Fan Zone in Schlossplatz.

Tonight, Mayor Dr. Frank Nopper will welcome the Euros to Stuttgart and there will be more performances from DJs and freestyle ballers.

Speaking to me on BBC Radio Scotland's Lunchtime Live programme they said they didn't know when they booked their wedding that they’d end with thousands of Scotland fans providing a backdrop.

They’ve been inundated with members of the Tartan Army shouting congratulations and shaking their hands.

Claus said: “The situation makes the day more beautiful.”

Variena added: “There’s been congratulations and singing. They are all very, very nice people.

“We are very happy that all you guys are here in Munich celebrating with us. They are not here for the game. They are actually here for our wedding!”

You might remember hearing that on the first night of the Tartan Army's arrival, one pub on Munich's Marienplatz ran out of beer.

According to Peter Inselkammer, the city's head of economic development, that problem has now been solved.

He told BBC News: "Yes, there is enough beer. Think of Oktoberfest - that's seven million visitors with nine million litres of beer. So we are used to having guests who are very thirsty."

Mr Inselkammer added that, thanks in part to the very hungry and thirsty Scotland fans, the tournament could be worth 100m euros for Munich.

"Of course every fan is welcome, especially those from Scotland nowadays," he said.
