Patrick Bamford says on the latest episode of the My Mate's A Footballer podcast that the atmosphere at Elland Road had a big part to play in Leeds' play-off semi-final victory over Norwich.

Daniel Farke's side were roared on to a 4-0 win in the second-leg, after the away match had ended goalless, to set up a play-off final against Southampton at Wembley on Sunday (15:00 BST).

"As the players walked out I was thinking 'there is no way we don't win this', with the way it was, the atmosphere...it was the loudest I've heard it," said the Leeds striker.

The Premier League season may have come to an end, but there is still plenty of club football left to play before we turn our attention to the Euros.

This week's big games kick off with the Europa League final on Wednesday, when Xabi Alonso's Bayer Leverkusen will look to continue their unbeaten season by landing a second trophy, following on from their Bundesliga title. They also have a German Cup final to look forward to on Saturday.

So Pep Guardiola believes that Jurgen Klopp's place in the pantheon of legendary Liverpool managers is assured.

Well the numbers would certainly back up the Spaniard on that one, with Klopp's points per game, for example, topping any of his leading predecessors.

Pep Guardiola became emotional when talking about departing Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.

He said the Reds boss had been an important part of his life, brought him to another level and the pair respected each other "incredibly".

The Manchester City manager added: "There are personalities that when they arrive in one place they stay forever. Jurgen, with Liverpool, will be part of the level with Shankly, Paisley. These incredible legends...Jurgen will be there."

Despite the sudden nature of De Zerbi's departure from Brighton, the Italian insists his head hasn't been turned by another club.

"There isn't any club - no-one offered [anything]. At the moment, nothing," De Zerbi said.

"I hope to work in the Premier League again. I don't know where or when. But it was an honour to work in the Premier League."

It's set to be a summer of change at Brighton following De Zerbi's departure.

The Italian announced on Saturday that he had mutually agreed to leave the club at the end of the season.

De Zerbi's been linked with a host of top European clubs, while the Seagulls are interested in Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna.

There are a few transfer stories that have been rumbling on for a while now that we expect to be concluded at some point over the coming weeks.

Chelsea are no closer to agreeing a new deal with England midfielder and 24-year-old academy graduate Conor Gallagher, who is linked with Aston Villa and Tottenham, and could be sold by the Blues to appease the Premier League's profit and sustainability rules. (Express), external

France forward Kylian Mbappe, 25, could be left out of Paris St-Germain's squad for the French Cup final against Lyon, with Real Madrid poised to confirm his signing. (RMC Sport - in French), external

Sticking with Manchester United, the Mirror, external reports that Bayern Munich and Ajax continue to court Erik ten Hag, 54, in the belief he will be sacked as manager at Old Trafford at the end of the season.

Meanwhile, Ipswich say they are doing everything possible to keep manager Kieran McKenna amid growing interest from Brighton, Chelsea and Manchester United. (Teamtalk), external

Jadon Sancho played a key role in the last Euros, missing one of England's penalties in their shootout defeat in the final against Italy at Wembley.

His England chances have since been hit by a nightmare spell at Manchester United, but the 24-year-old winger is busily rebuilding his reputation in a successful loan spell at former club Borussia Dortmund.

Sancho has helped Dortmund to the Champions League final, ensuring a return to Wembley to face Real Madrid on 1 June.

He leads today's gossip column, with the Sun, external reporting that United want at least 75% of the £75m they paid Dortmund for him in June 2021. Sancho would reportedly need to take a cut in his £275,000-a-week wages if the Bundesliga club complete a deal to re-sign him.

As a coincidence, the start of the Euros also coincides with the opening of the Premier League's summer transfer window.

No doubt managers and chairmen will have a keen eye on the matches as they draw up their shopping lists, hunting for bargains.

No sooner has the Premier League season finished, thoughts turn to the European Championship, which begins in Germany on 14 June, when the hosts take on Scotland in Munich.

England manager Gareth Southgate names his provisional squad for the Euros tomorrow.

We will bring you all the news and reaction.

RB Leipzig are in talks to extend striker Benjamin Sesko’s contract amid interest from Premier League clubs.

The 20-year-old is one of the hottest attacking talents on the summer market and has been linked with multiple clubs, including Arsenal and Chelsea.

Sesko has rejected offers to move to Saudi Arabia this summer but is open to either moving to England or renewing his deal in Germany.

The Slovenia international’s representatives have entered talks with Leipzig about extending his contract - which expires in 2028 - but his performances have earned him the chance of improved terms.

Sesko ended the season with a goal in each of his last seven Bundesliga matches to help Leipzig secure qualification for next season’s Champions League.

Leipzig signed Sesko for around £20m (€25m) from Salzburg in 2023.

• Nottingham Forest's final points tally of 32 set a competition record for the lowest points total of a side to avoid relegation - two fewer than the 34 that proved enough for West Brom to stay up in 2004-05.
• Luton's final-day also saw them record the lowest points total for a team finishing in 18th position in the Premier League, two points off Fulham's 28 in 2020-21.
• Luton, Burnley and Sheffield United conceded 267 times in their combined 114 fixtures, with rock-bottom Sheffield United accounting for 104 of those goals, taking Swindon's long-standing record of 100 set in 1993-94.
• The most goals conceded combined by three relegated sides in a Premier League season had stood at 237, in 2011-12.

And what of the sides set to replace Sheffield United, Burnley and Luton in the top flight?

Leicester spent just one season in the Championship, bouncing straight back after finishing this season as champions.

One of Leeds or Southampton, who were also relegated from the Premier League at the end of the 2022-23 season, will join the Foxes in making an instant return.

They face each other at Wembley in the Championship play-off final on Sunday (15:00 BST).

The odd one out is Ipswich, although they have also spent just a season in the second-tier after clinching back-to-back promotions.

Kieran McKenna's side have been the surprise package after carrying on the form that saw them sweep to League One promotion, scoring more than 90 points in successive seasons.

The question is, can Leicester, Ipswich and either Leeds or Southampton maintain their place in the Premier next season, or are they destined to come straight back down?
