Hearts are unbeaten in their last four home Edinburgh derbies against Hibernian in the Scottish Premiership (W2 D2) since a 0-2 reverse in December 2019 under Daniel Stendel.
Hibernian have only won one of their last eight Edinburgh derbies against Hearts in the Scottish Premiership (D4 L3), a 1-0 victory at home in April of last season.
After a run between December 2022 and May 2023 that saw Hearts win eight of their 11 home matches (L3), they have since won just one of their last four at Tynecastle (D2 L1), although this win did come last time out at home against Aberdeen.
After losing three on the trot in the Scottish Premiership in August, Hibernian are since unbeaten in their last four in the league (W2 D2).
This will be Nick Montgomery’s first meeting with Hearts as Hibernian boss; none of the last six Hibs managers to face Hearts in the top-flight with the club have lost their first such Edinburgh derby in charge (W4 D2), with Pat Fenlon the last to do so in January 2012.
