Man City have played very well but as a team Real Madrid are very poor defensively.

Phil Foden shoots from range and forces a decent save from Thibaut Courtois at full stretch.

    Juventus 1-0 PSV

Finally a breakthrough! It is a lovely strike by Weston McKennie as he takes control of a bouncing ball in the box to hammer a first-time effort into the back of the net.

  4. Grealish straight to the dressing roompublished at 20:34 Greenwich Mean Time

    Man City 1-0 Real Madrid

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport's chief football news reporter at the Etihad Stadium

Pep Guardiola had a chat with Jack Grealish, who seemed undecided about whether to head to the dug-out or the dressing room.

He chose the latter option, which is probably a wise move given how cold it is.

This time last week, I wouldn't have fancied Grealish's chances of starting tonight.

But he proved, in creating the winner for Kevin de Bruyne at Leyton Orient and the role he played in Erling Haaland's opener that he is a class act on top form and capable of unlocking the most obdurate of defences.

Just wanted to say, as neither a City or even Villa fan, good for Grealish. Been somewhat forgotten but really played a big part in the goal.

A real shame. Jack Grealish is going to have to come off having played his part in the goal.

  8. Man City fans in buoyant formpublished at 20:29 Greenwich Mean Time

    Man City 1-0 Real Madrid

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Etihad Stadium

Manchester City's fans have not had much to cheer about recently but they are relishing plenty of flying tackles and some "they shall not pass" defending.

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has spent much of his time waving at Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior to chase back when attacks break down.

Well this would be a great shame after we've just given him a shoutout.

Jack Grealish is down on his haunches and looks to be in a bit of bother. He has been clutching his leg at times.

    Juventus 0-0 PSV

No sign of a breakthrough yet in this one, although Ryan Flamingo was in a good position to head in from Luuk de Jong's header back into the middle of the box, but he could only send his effort wide under pressure.

For all the talk of Grealish being on his way out of City, he’s created two almost identical chances in the last two games. He’s a class act.

That was Erling Haaland's first goal against Real Madrid with what was his 14th shot in his fifth game against them.

4 minutes to make a decision is clearly ridiculous. If you can’t see it in 30 seconds, the on-field decision should stand.
