Josh Andrews scored in his second successive game as Gillingham defeated Notts County 1-0 to stay unbeaten in League Two.

The big striker headed home Remeao Hutton's cross early in the second half to extend the club's undefeated run in the league to 20 games.

The hosts nearly took the lead in fortuitous circumstances when a left-footed cross from Hutton missed everybody inside the box and Magpies keeper Kelle Roos had to be alert low to his right to palm the ball clear.

Shots from Bradley Dack and Sam Gale narrowly missed the target with Alassana Jatta heading over Jacob Bedeau's cross for the visitors.

With less than a minute on the clock in the second half, Gills finally found a breakthrough. Hutton had space on the right to deliver a cross, found Andrews unmarked and the striker found the bottom right corner with a well-executed header.

Gareth Ainsworth's side were defensively resolute and limited Notts to few chances. Matthew Dennis put a header over the bar, with Jodi Jones thwarted by Glenn Morris.

Aaron Rowe nearly made it 2-0 late on for Gills - who are second in the table, behind leaders Swindon on goals scored - but Roos made a strong save.
