Summary

  1. Postpublished at 20:51 British Summer Time 18 September

    Brighton 2-1 Wolves

That should be 2-2. Wolves, in the opening seconds of the second half, storm forwards and have a three on two chance. Rodrigo Gomes is the man who leads the charge and has the shot, but it is far too close to Jason Steele, who doesn't even have to dive to save it with his legs.

    Brighton 2-1 Wolves

No changes at the break as we get back under way at the Amex.

  3. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:48 British Summer Time 18 September

    Coventry 0-0 Tottenham

Half-time and Coventry have been impressive but their failure to capitalise and turn that into a lead will surely prove costly.

Tottenham have not had a single shot on or off target, but with big names waiting in the wings to come on, they have to be better after the break.

  4. Postpublished at 20:46 British Summer Time 18 September

    Coventry 0-0 Tottenham

Ben Wilson has had a quiet half in the Coventry goal, but has to get his gloves dirty on that occasion, showing decent handling to gather Archie Gray's fired-in low cross from the right touchline.

  5. Postpublished at 20:45 British Summer Time 18 September

    Coventry 0-0 Tottenham

Another chance for the hosts. Brandon Thomas-Asante sends in a tempting low cross from the right and any connection from Haji Wright in the middle would surely have tested Fraser Forster, but there's just a bit too much on the pass and a sliding Wright can't get there in time.

I don't think Spurs look too out of place playing against Championship opposition to be honest.

  7. Postpublished at 20:40 British Summer Time 18 September

    Coventry 0-0 Tottenham

Coventry continue to impress, Jack Rudoni's first time goalbound volley would have gone past Fraser Forster, but bounced off Spurs defender Destiny Udogie.

Norman Bassette then fires wide from a tight angle after outpacing Radu Dragusin down the left channel.

  8. Postpublished at 20:37 British Summer Time 18 September

    Coventry 0-0 Tottenham

Coventry have arguably been the better side so far, but the Tottenham bench is absolutely loaded with big names.

Brennan Johnson has already had to come on, with Son Heung-min, Dejan Kulusevski and James Maddison, who came through the ranks at Coventry, among those waiting to also get on.

  9. Postpublished at 20:36 British Summer Time 18 September

    Coventry 0-0 Tottenham

Jack Rudoni's set-piece delivery is absolutely lovely for Coventry and it is causing Tottenham huge problems. Once again though, Spurs keeper Fraser Forster, coming through a packed and chaotic penalty area, does extremely well to get a strong fist to the ball under pressure.

There is absolutely nothing to suggest we are the Premier League team here. Disjointed, no guile in attack, no urgency. I am "Ange in" but it has to be better.

  11. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:34 British Summer Time 18 September

    Brighton 2-1 Wolves

Brighton go in with the lead thanks to goals from Carlos Baleba and Simon Adingra, but Goncalo Guedes has kept the cue-tie alive by pulling one back just before the break.

GOAL - Brighton 2-1 Wolvespublished at 20:30 British Summer Time 18 September

    Goncalo Guedes (Wolves, 44 mins)

Hope for Wolves as they score just before half-time. It is a good move down the left as Joao Gomes releases Matt Doherty and he pulls the ball back into the danger zone.

Goncalo Guedes is there and his side-footed effort may well have gone straight in anyway, but takes a slight deflection and into the net it goes.

  13. Postpublished at 20:29 British Summer Time 18 September

    Coventry 0-0 Tottenham

Norman Bassette, on the right side of the penalty area for Coventry, tries his luck, but Timo Werner has tracked his man well and slid in to get a vital block and send the ball away for a corner.

From that set piece, it is a good inswinging delivery from the right by Jack Rudoni, but Fraser Forster does well to get a vital punch clear.

Anyone else think there is a kit clash in this Coventry v Spurs game?

  15. Postpublished at 20:26 British Summer Time 18 September

    Coventry 0-0 Tottenham

Mark Robins will be very happy with how his Coventry side have dealt with Premier League Spurs so far. Dominic Solanke looked to bustle his way into the penalty area, and it took two home players teaming up to stop him.

Twenty-five minutes in and Tottenham yet to have a shot on or off target.

  16. Postpublished at 20:24 British Summer Time 18 September

    Brighton 2-0 Wolves

Brighton's Julio Enciso can certainly strike a ball from range. But not this time. Brighton get a free-kick 30 yards out, and it is a complete waste from Enciso, blasting it high into the seats.

  17. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 20:20 British Summer Time 18 September

    Coventry 0-0 Tottenham

Tottenham have been forced into an early change after only 17 minutes as Wilson Odobert looks to have done his hamstring and has to go off, replaced by Brennan Johnson.

A game of few chances so far. Timo Werner did get to the edge of the Coventry penalty area but then couldn't find the decisive pass and the opportunity was wasted.

GOAL - Brighton 2-0 Wolvespublished at 31 mins

    Simon Adingra

Brighton double their lead. Simon Adingra is able to glide past both Pedro Lima and Santiago Bueno, with neither defender putting in any kind of meaningful challenge. Adingra then shoots low and hard past Jose Sa for 2-0.

  19. GREAT SAVE!published at 20:16 British Summer Time 18 September

    Brighton 1-0 Wolves

Wolves' best moment of the match by some distance. Joao Gomes, who lost possession for Brighton's goal, slides it to Goncalo Guedes, just outside the corner of the penalty area.

Despite being at a tight angle, Guedes fires a blaster at the home goal, which Jason Steele has to acrobatically tip over the top.

  20. Postpublished at 20:13 British Summer Time 18 September

    Brighton 1-0 Wolves

Jose Sa in the Wolves goal nearly gifts Brighton a second goal as a heavy first touch from a backpass puts himself in a world of trouble.

He has to show some nifty footwork to get away from the fast-approaching Evan Ferguson with another touch to avoid Yankuba Minteh.

At the other end, a rare Wolves chance, but Goncalo Guedes' header is never threatening Jason Steele's goal and goes miles over.
