Well that all escalated quite quickly didn't it?

The two games in League One produced 14 goals between them, the lead in League Two changed hands twice and the top three is completely different from that at midday.

Oh, and Andy Cook scored twice for Bradford, but that happens all the time anyway.

Morecambe ended their six-month wait for a League Two win by beating Barrow who were the last side they'd beaten, on April Fool's Day.

So, just a quiet day really.

    See you next week.

You may remember us highlighting the jam at the top of League Two this week but it's got even closer after today.

The top three has completely changed and we've had two changes in leadership today as well.

Notts County went top at lunchtime with David McGoldrick's last minute equaliser earning a point at Chesterfield. But now Port Vale have jumped from sixth to the top with their 1-0 win at MK Dons making it 17 points from their last seven games and 13 on the road.

Doncaster missed the chance to go top as they were held 1-1 at home by Crewe despite dominating after falling behind.

Walsall drop from the top to fourth but weren't playing today and Gillingham slip to fifth as they surrendered the lead to lose 2-1 at home to Accrington.

Barrow became Morecambe's fall guys and are sixth while Bradford break into the top seven for the first time this season.

Shrewsbury remain in the bottom four on goal difference, despite their 5-3 win over Crawley.

The Reds are one place below Paul Hurst's side in 22nd, with the two teams having swapped places.

Peterborough and Rotherham move up two places to 12th and 15th respectively after their entertaining 3-3 draw, in what is a packed midfield in the standings.

    • Result of the day in League Two arguably goes to Morecambe who picked up their first win since April to beat Barrow 1-0 to climb off the foot of the table.
    • Swindon hung on to beat Cheltenham 3-2. Swindon had never beaten Cheltenham away in the Football League and had won just one of 10 games in League Two before today.
    • An Andy Cook double ensured Bradford overcame Tranmere with the former Rovers man scoring his 79th goal for the Bantams and seventh in the league this season.
    • Grimsby got back to winning ways thanks to Luca Barrington netting twice to help his side beat Salford 2-1.
    • And Toby Sims scored the only goal of the game as Harrogate prevailed against Newport County.

    Crawley Town 3-5 Shrewsbury Town

George Lloyd celebrates in front of the Shrewsbury fansImage source, Rex Features

It seems a very long time ago that Shrewsbury Town took a first-half 1-0 lead in this game.

That advantage was shortlived, as Crawley turned the match on its head, going 2-1 in front even after their defender Josh Flint was sent off.

But that red card was ultimately crucial, as Salop scored four late goals to eventually win 5-3.

John Marquis and George Lloyd both scored twice, with the former sending the keeper the wrong way from the penalty spot to give his side a vital lead.

Paul Hurst's side have their second win in 18 games.

The substitute referee blows his whistle and brings and end to a comfortable win for Wimbledon.

Matty Stevens' hat-trick and a Cameron Harper own goal put the game out of sight early in the second half on the day the Wombles returned to their home ground after it was damaged in flooding last month.

It's been a miserable day for the visitors, who have now failed to score in four consecutive games, and it will be a long journey back north for them.

For Wimbledon - two assists for James Tilley, three goals for Stevens, four goals in total. Job done.

    It's all over.

Accrington with an injury time winner at Priestfield.

Stanley picked up their first win of the season last week but now they've gone and won at Gillingham.

John Doolan's side move out of the relegation places with this win.

Gillingham will see this as another three points dropped after suffering back-to-back defeats.

They drop down to fifth in the table.

It was an entertaining game but there is a feeling in your stomach that it is points dropped.

The points are shared after a thrilling encounter that saw Peterborough go in front, concede three goals, and then comeback to level the match.

Jonson Clarke-Harris scored against his old side, but then went off injured.

Ultimately, Rotherham missed a series of chances to win the match, but Posh showed their defensive frailties.

  12. goal

And there is what could be a winner.

    My word!

Dara Costelloe has been a handful for Gillingham all game and he puts Accrington in front late, late on.

Antwoine Hackford celebrates his goal at MK DonsImage source, Rex Features

That's now 17 points from their last seven games for Port Vale and no-one has more on the road this season than Darren Moore's side, oh and they're top of the table as well!

Antwoine Hackford wins it in the second-half as he got on the end of Jack Shorrock's cross.

Hackford should've sewn-up the points when through one-on-one but McGill stood up well to make the save.

MK had the ball in the net twice in the first-half but both were correctly ruled out for offside and handball.

The home side might have poached a point at the end but Lemonheigh-Evans saw his effort well saved by Ripley.

We have a sixth change in the leadership of League Two in the space of four match days.

    Doncaster 1-1 Crewe

It finishes all-square but Doncaster came on very strong after going behind to almost take the three points.

Max Conway scored his first professional goal to hand Crewe the lead with a fine solo run before slotting past Sharman-Lowe.

It took a while for Doncaster to get going in truth but their equaliser was a fine counter attack as, from the edge of their own area Sbarra sent Molyneux scampering away before he slid the ball to Kyle Hurst who made no mistake.

Ironside then had a shot cleared off the line and Hurst blazed over the bar as the home side searched for a winner only for Zac Williams to then waste a great chance for Crewe by lifting an effort over.

A fifth meeting between these two in barely a year and they'll probably be glad to see the back of each other until March 15 when they have to do it again.
