A typically bonkers afternoon of EFL action with 62 goals across League One and Two and plenty of eye-catching results

Wrexham and Birmingham continue to lead the way in the third tier, though Steve Bruce's Blackpool picked-off third-placed Charlton at the Valley and Stockport and Huddersfield were humbled at home by Leyton Orient and Northampton respectively.

Bolton also eased the pressure on Ian Evatt after four games without a goal with a five-star showing against beleaguered Reading.

Barrow, Gillingham and Walsall are your pace-setters in League Two, as Notts County's unbeaten run was ended by the Gills at Meadow Lane.

Thank you for joining us for an action-packed afternoon, but don't go crazy this evening, you'll need some rest.

We'll back back bright and early tomorrow morning for the tasty all-Lancashire encounter between Preston and Blackburn while there is another local derby in League Two on Monday night as Morecambe make the short trip to Fleetwood.

    We'll see you then!

  2. Barrow burrow their way up the tablepublished at 17:17 British Summer Time 21 September

Gillingham may have won at Notts County but it's former manager Stephen Clemence who's celebrating at the top of League Two after Barrow's 2-0 victory over Newport County enables them to take the lead by virtue of goals scored.

That's a nice little way of setting up Tuesday's League Cup trip to take on Premier League Chelsea.

Walsall's 2-0 triumph at Salford City mean they now jump above the Magpies into third place. The Saddlers also have top-flight opposition in midweek as they take on Leicester City.

    Bradford City 0-0 AFC Wimbledon

Plenty of huff, plenty of puff but no goals.

The closest we come is Myles Hippolyte's effort for AFC Wimbledon which hits the inside of both posts before being cleared.

This maintain's Bradford's unbeaten home record but despite having more possession, more shots and more on target they can't find a way past the visitors' goalkeeper, Owen Goodman.

    Bolton 5-2 Reading

A good day at the office for Ian Evatt and for Bolton Wanderers. Another 5-2 home win in this fixture. After four games without a goal, they scored five in one afternoon.

Dion Charles hit a first-half hat-trick, two of them from the spot, Josh Sheehan fired in a free-kick and Kyle Dempsey nodded a late fifth, meaning Ben Elliot's first professional goal and Sam Smith's second-half penalty were in vain.

    Notts County 0-1 Gillingham

The last unbeaten record in League Two is toast as Elliott Nevitt's goal wins it for Gillingham BUT the Kent side don't go top as Barrow have gone to the summit on goals scored.

The goal which won it came against the run of play with Nevitt latching on to a long ball and rounding Alex Bass to slot home.

You can't say Notts County didn't produce opportunites, striking the post twice in the first-half and seeing a Sam Austin effort chalked-off by an assistant's offside flag.

Then, with referee Lee Swabey looking at his watch the home side slung another ball into the box only to see Jacob Bedeau denied by a goal line clearance.

    Wrexham 2-1 Crawley

A big three points for Wrexham. Crawley put up an excellent fight and might feel hard done by to come away with nothing.

Elliot Lee put the hosts ahead midway through the first-half but Armando Junior Quitirna brought the Red Devils level after 54 minutes.

Then, with little over 10 minutes remaining, George Dobson crossed in for Max Cleworth to head home the winner from close range.

Wrexham stay top of the League One table on goal difference ahead of Birmingham City.

    Tight at the top.

    Northampton see out the victory!

The visitors were in cruise control after they led 3-0 through a Michal Helik own goal, Cameron McGeehan and Tariqe Fosu.

But Josh Koroma hit back in the 80th minute before being brought down for a penalty by Akin Odimayo who was sent off for a second yellow.

It set up a potentially tense finale but Koroma's spot kick was saved Lee Burge and the Cobblers have managed to hold on for a 3-1 win.
