Have your say on the action

On the topic of fans, another protest from Celtic supporters was planned for this evening but has since been cancelled.

The Celtic Collective, an umbrella group for fans' organisations, began with a 12-minute silence in Saturday's 0-0 draw against Hibs and had called for similar action tonight and in Sunday's meeting with Motherwell.

Those have now been shelved, with chief executive Michael Nicholson and chief financial officer Chris McKay among those to meet representatives of the group on Monday.

"We welcome the club's decision to meet and engage directly on the issues raised," read a statement from the collective. "However, we remain under no illusions about the scale of change still required at board level.

"As a result of this development, the planned continuation of the 'three-match silence' has been postponed, in good faith, in the hope and expectation that supporters will now receive full and honest communication from the club."

I'm told to expect a crowd of about 42,000 this evening.

Decent, albeit that would leave big gaps around Celtic Park given the 60,000 capacity. However, with less than half an hour until kick-off, there are nowhere near 20,000, never mind 40,000, inside the ground.

Late arrivals? Caught in traffic? Folk forgetting it’s not a 19:45 kick-off? It's rush hour, to be fair.

  3. 'Good opportunity' for Bernardopublished at 17:19 BST

On Paulo Bernardo coming back into the side, Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers tells TNT Sports: "He probably hasn't played as much as he would've liked this season.

"He's been working really hard in training and tonight is a good opportunity for him."

Hearts, Dundee United, Hibernian, Kilmarnock, Livingston and Motherwell.

Those are the six teams to have scored more Scottish Premiership goals than Celtic by the end of September in the 2025-26 season.

A worrying statistic? Maybe not too much at this early stage, but it is a stark contrast in comparison to their numbers at this time last year.

After six league matches last season, Brendan Rodgers' side were on 20 goals. This term, they are on eight.

Saturday's goalless draw with Hibs, which resulted in the reigning champions dropping to second in the table behind leaders Hearts, already marked the fourth time they have failed to score in a game this campaign.

Across all competitions in the entirety of last term, that happened just five times.

"It's not rocket science," said Rodgers. "It was the same way back years ago as to what it is now. The players ultimately will transform the trajectory of your football.

"So for us, we brought some new players in, we give them time to settle in. Once we've done that, we support them and the players that are here."

Celtic have lost just one their past eight home games in all European competitions (W4 D3), the last defeat was 2-1 to Bayern Munich in last season's Champions League.

Since exiting the Champions League in Munich last term, Brendan Rodgers' men have failed to win 11 of their following 26 matches in all competitions.

  6. 'Resilient' Tierney reaches game 400published at 17:10 BST

    Celtic v Braga (17:45)

It's a 400th career match for Celtic defender Kieran Tierney this evening.

The Scotland left-back is still working his way back to full fitness following his return to Parkhead in the summer.

Our chief sports writer Tom English has looked back on the 28-year-old's career, which has been seriously impacted by injuries in recent seasons.

  8. Bernardo starts as Hatate returns to Celtic squadpublished at 17:05 BST

    Celtic v Braga (17:45)

Brendan Rodgers sticks with the same attack that failed to score against Hibs on Saturday but makes four changes elsewhere in his Celtic side.

Kieran Tierney and teenage Colby Donovan are back in the full-back positions, while Benjamin Nygren and Paulo Bernardo come into midfield.

Marcelo Saracchi, Anthony Ralston, Luke McCowan and Arne Engels drop to the substitutes, which include the returning Reo Hatate and Auston Trusty.

Centre-half Jonatas Noro and Ivory Coast midfielder Mario Dorgeles are missing for Braga, but former Celtic defender Gustaf Lagerbielke starts and ex-Wolves midfielder Joao Moutinho is on the bench.
