Totally listless performance from Celtic yet again. If 'elite manager' Rodgers can't get more out of the most expensive squad in Scotland, then what is the point of him?

So disappointed, but when you sell strikers and good wingers without replacements, this is what happens.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers tells BBC Scotland: "Disappointing result and performance. It's a disappointing day.

"We go behind in the game, show a good mentality to come back, score a good goal.

"I just think we gave it away too easily. We've got to do better with the [second goal]. He likes to come inside, he likes to shoot. And then we make the mistake for the penalty, so all of a sudden it's 3-1.

"Its a game we should take something from, but we didn't do enough.

"Dane [Murray], the young players, you have to be exposed to the pressure. We're needing these players. Dane makes the own goal and is then a little bit rash for the penalty. It's something he'll learn from.

"We need to find a way to be more consistent. It's still so early, it's only nine games. The comfort is there's so many games to play. We know we can find a consistent set of games. There's still so many points to play for."

Rodgers added that injured forward Daizen Maeda will take part in training tomorrow, when defender Cameron Carter-Vickers will undergo surgery on an Achilles injury.

Some statement from Hearts. Pressure is on Celtic, can they cope? Going by today, looks like they can’t.

Hearts striker Lawrence Shankland tells Sky Sports: "Where we're sitting in the table, we've earned that. You need to be at the top of your game to get a result. I'm really pleased with the performance.

"We've had a terrific start to the season. We just need to keep looking to pick up the three points and keep doing what we're doing."

Hearts midfielder Cammy Devlin tells Sky Sports: "We were so disciplined the whole game. We stayed narrow, we stayed compact.

"It was tough, they're top, top players, international footballers, they're the reigning champions for a reason. You've just got to work as hard as you can. It was a tough battle but just happy to win."

  7. Thelin swaps three for Dons; Hibs unchangedpublished at 14:11 GMT

    Aberdeen v Hibernian (15:00)

Aberdeen seem to have kept the same shape from their 6-0 humbling at the hands of AEK Athens, but Jimmy Thelin has changed three players.

Gavin Molloy is in at left wing-back, while Ante Palaversa comes into midfield. Kevin Nisbet comes in up top, replacing Marko Lazetic.

Topi Keskinen and Graeme Shinnie drop to the bench.

Unsurprisingly, David Gray keeps the same XI that dispatched Livingston 4-0 last week.

Fair play to Hearts. Doing everything my team Rangers should be doing. Looking at the bigger picture, Scottish football desperately needs a title winner outside the big two. Only nine games in though! Good luck to them.

Comparing Hearts last season with Aberdeen this season is accurate. Comparing Hearts this season with Aberdeen last season, not so much. Let’s just enjoy the ride.
