This is Preston North End’s first home league match against Ipswich Town since a 4-0 win in April 2019, their only win against them in their last 10 meetings (D3 L6).
Ipswich are looking to complete just their third ever league double over Preston, also achieving that in the 1965-66 and 2017-18 seasons.
Preston won six of their first seven league games this season but have since managed just five wins in their last 22 Championship matches (D5 L12).
Ipswich Town have won just two of their last nine matches in all competitions (D5 L2) and lost 2-1 to non-league side Maidstone United in the FA Cup last time out despite having 38 shots and accumulating an expected goal total of 3.6.
Jeremy Sarmiento has scored two goals in four appearances in all competitions for Ipswich so far – as many as he scored in 21 matches for West Bromwich Albion earlier this campaign.
