Fourth-placed Notts County welcome Chesterfield to Meadow Lane and will have automatic promotion in their sights after their 2-0 win at Grimsby on Tuesday night in what was only their second victory in their past seven league games. The Magpies sit two points behind third-placed Doncaster after their 1-1 draw against Crewe in the early kick-off.

AFC Wimbledon missed the chance to move into the automatic promotion places after a defeat at home by Cheltenham on Tuesday. The Dons who sit fifth in the league and are on a run of one victory in six travel to bottom club Carlisle.

Port Vale will be looking to get back on form against MK Dons after their 11-game unbeaten run came to an end after they suffered a 2-1 defeat at Colchester on Tuesday evening.

Grimsby missed the opportunity to move into the play-off places after seeing their eight-game unbeaten run ended by Colchester in their last outing. The Mariners who sit in eighth welcome a Salford side who are six points adrift the play-offs but have failed to win in their past six league games.

In-form Colchester welcome Fleetwood to the JobServe Community Stadium this afternoon with the U’s on a 12-game unbeaten league run. Danny Cowley’s side, who sit in ninth, have notched up four wins on the bounce ahead of today’s game to see them move within one point of the League Two play-off places.

And second from bottom side Morecambe who are four points from safety host Barrow. The Shrimps have lost 10 of their past 14 league games (W4), though all four wins during that time have come on home soil. Derek Adams’ side suffered a 2-1 defeat at MK Dons last Saturday which was a fourth loss in their past five league games, so form will need to pick up if they are to have any chance of survival.

  14. Bantams to return to form after slip up?published at 14:56 Greenwich Mean Time 15 March

    Bradford v Tranmere (15:00 GMT)

Bradford missed the chance to go top of League Two last Saturday after suffering their first defeat in eight league games after a 1-0 defeat at Gillingham.

The Bantams will be looking to get back to winning ways to strengthen their grip on automatic promotion having won each of their past 10 home league games, keeping a clean sheet in each of their past six during that run.

Tranmere picked up a huge three points last time out to come from behind and beat Bromley 2-1 to give themselves a lifeline in their battle to avoid relegation.

They start the day four points adrift of the drop zone with Rovers announcing earlier this week that interim manager Andy Crosby will remain in charge of the club until the end of the season.

Crosby took over when Nigel Adkins left by mutual consent last month and has remained unbeaten in the three games since, gaining his first win in that victory over Bromley on Saturday.

  15. Terriers hoping Duff exit sparks promotion pushpublished at 14:52 Greenwich Mean Time 15 March

    Huddersfield v Crawley (15:00 GMT)

Michael Duff was sacked by Huddersfield this weekImage source, Rex Features

Huddersfield have pressed the panic button getting rid of manager Michael Duff this week after a run of four defeats in five and just 10 points from their last 11 saw them slip to the fringes of the play-off battle.

It is a gamble with only a dozen games remaining and the Terriers sitting just two points away from the final play off spot, Bolton in sixth, and they will be hoping for immediate bounce under the temporary stewardship of Jon Worthington.

A 1-0 loss for Rob Elliott's Crawley against Charlton last Tuesday was a fourth defeat in their last five. More damning perhaps is that they have won just one game in 10, a run which stretches back to the end of January.

Crawley go into this match sitting 22nd and a worrying 12 points away from safety after Peterborough's win in the lunchtime kick-off at Cambridge extended that gap.

  16. 'Olaofe leaves Bolton bamboozled and beaten'published at 14:47 Greenwich Mean Time 15 March

    FT: Bolton 0-1 Stockport

    Adam Cottier
    BBC Sport

Stockport demonstrated why they must be considered as serious promotion contenders with a measured performance to beat Bolton again.

Tanto Olaofe’s goal was an example alone of the tenacity, conviction and quality Dave Challinor’s team possesses.

His driving run, spin and weave into the area to score with a calm finish had Bolton bamboozled and ultimately beaten.

Bolton’s goalkeeper Nathan Baxter had made three excellent saves before that, while the home side were wasteful with fleeting moments of promise.

One of the League One goals of the season won this game.

  17. Are Burton in for a hellish encounter?published at 14:44 Greenwich Mean Time 15 March

    Shrewsbury v Burton (15:00 GMT)

Photo of Shrewsbury Town boss Gareth AinsworthImage source, Rex Features

Shrewsbury Town boss Gareth Ainsworth was not happy with his side's defeat to Exeter last weekend - and is expecting a lot more fight for this afternoon's battle at the bottom against Burton Albion.

"We don't give them hell sometimes enough - that's what I want the boys to do," Ainsworth told BBC Radio Shropshire.

"I'm not gonna say this is a problem, because it's the first time I've seen it, but I won't like it if that happens again. We have to go out there and absolutely die for the cause."

Will Ainsworth see the reaction he wants?

If so, the Brewers are in for a scrap as they look to close the gap between them and safety.

But if not, the Salops stay in the basement with the cloud of relegation feeling all the heavier.

  18. A season definer? Parkinson thinks notpublished at 14:41 Greenwich Mean Time 15 March

    Wycombe v Wrexham (15:00 GMT)

Wrexham's Jack Marriott shoots at goal during their match against Wycombe Wanderers in AugustImage source, Rex Features

Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson says their visit to Wycombe Wanderers is not "season-defining" but it's certainly important right now.

If the Red Dragons are victorious, they take three points from their promotion rivals and slot into second.

While a win for Wycombe means they get not only a cushion in points, but a game in hand to potentially sweeten the deal.

"I don't look at it as season defining because after Saturday there will still be nine games left and a lot of football to be played," Parkinson told BBC Radio Wales.

"But obviously it's an important one, we can't hide away from that.

"It's a great challenge for us going down there and we know what's at stake and we need to concentrate on what we need to do.

"They've had a good season, so have we, and it's going to be very close."

But will Parkinson end up looking back at this game as the one that sealed a promotion slot? Only time will tell.

    FT: Cambridge 0-1 Peterborough

    Doug Shulman

You have to give credit to Peterborough, they dealt with the pressure well from United in the second half.

United had four or five chances to score and didn't take any of them.
