Oh my goodness, today is turning into a nightmare for the Hammers.
Ines Belloumou, for some reason, decides to take a big handful of Alyssa Thompson's ponytail and give it a pull.
Thompson is furious, and the referee decides it is a straight red card.

Midway through the first half, and you suspect his game is done as a contest.
The Chelsea fans are making a lot of noise. They're behind Hannah Hampton's goal in this first half, meaning they didn't get a good view of the goals. A shame for them.

Earlier, Aggie Beever-Jones bagged the first Chelsea goal.
Beever-Jones has become the first Chelsea player to score in five consecutive WSL appearances since the English striker did so herself in November 2023.
She is also the first player ever to score in each of the Blues’ opening four games of a WSL campaign.

West Ham totally overcommit in midfield, the ball is turned over and Erin Cuthbert is alone in about 30 yards of space to stride forwards.
None of the defenders come out to close her down, so Cuthbert accepts the invitation to ping a shot into the top corner with Kinga Szemik again left helpless in goal.

It is really poor defending by West Ham. Wieke Kaptein has two players on her down the left wing but she somehow escapes and cuts a cross back from the byline.
The centre backs are static in the area, allowing Rytting Kaneryd to nip between them and finish unmarked from six yards.

Beever-Jones takes the free kick she won and it is textbook - curled unstoppably over the wall and into the top corner, Kinga Szemik in the West Ham goal had no chance at all.

This was West Ham's fortress last season and a place where they picked up many points. It's a test against Chelsea, who are top of the league. They're growling into a team where they play on the front foot and they've lost their fear against the top clubs.
