Brighton have signed Japan midfielder Fuka Tsunoda.

The 20-year-old midfielder has joined from WE League club Urawa Reds, who she made her debut for in 2021.

She is the sixth permanent signing at Brighton this summer.

Head coach Dario Vidosic said: “We’re delighted to bring Fuka to the club.

"She has got good experience in a competitive league in Japan and has been playing regularly for Urawa this season.

"She will improve our midfield options and we’re looking forward to working with her.”

If the rumours are true, gutted to lose Grace but Jess is a great replacement. Grace didn't really hit the top levels with United last season as plays the same position as Ella and playing them together wasn't working.

Liverpool haven't replaced Smith which is a concern and with a new manager and new ideas it might be a transitional season....but if we beat Everton on Sunday I might well change my mind!!

It is gearing up to be yet another busy end to a WSL transfer window, with movement hotting up yesterday at several clubs.

Leicester have had a busy 24 hours as we believe Rangers midfielder Olivia McLoughlin had a medical there yesterday.

They are also on course to wrap-up a move for Birmingham City’s Emily van Egmond, with a two-year permanent deal likely. WSL 2 side Birmingham will receive a small fee given she has two years on her contract.

The Foxes are also striking up a deal with Arsenal to bring in young defender Cecily Wellesley-Smith on loan.

Tottenham hope to complete the signing of Hammarby forward Cathinka Tandberg today after she travelled to London on Wednesday.

Liverpool are also busy. They want forwards in the market, among other positions, including full-backs so they are trying to get Japan international Risa Shimizu in on loan from Manchester City but it’s going to be tight. They also hope to wrap-up a loan move for Barcelona teenager Emilia Szymczak.

London City Lionesses have also been linked with Paris St-Germain star Grace Geyoro which would be a huge move if they can pull it off.

We’re also waiting to see if Chelsea can persuade Angel City to sell USA forward Alyssa Thompson in what would need to be a significant financial deal.

Palace should be looking at bringing a few more in. Not sure if the squad is deep enough.

That Olivia Smith transfer was confirmed on July 19, which feels like a lifetime ago.

The school holidays were still to come, it was only five days after England won the Euros for a second time. Good times, good times.

Anyway, will we see the transfer record reclaimed by the WSL today?

  14. A record-breaking windowpublished at 08:05 British Summer Time 4 September

The biggest signing so far is Arsenal's world record move for Canada forward Olivia Smith, who joined from Liverpool for £1m.

The 20-year-old, who made her international debut at 15, signed a four-year deal with the Champions League holders earlier this summer.

She wasn't the most expensive player for long though. Orlando Pride made Lizbeth Ovalle the most expensive signing in women's football history by signing the Mexico winger from Tigres UANL in a deal worth $1.5m (£1.1m) a few days later.
