  3. We believe in Villa Park - Emerypublished at 07:14 British Summer Time 10 April

    PSG 3-1 Aston Villa

Nuno Mendes' late third goal might have handed control of the Champions League quarter-final tie to Paris St-Germain, but Aston Villa manager Unai Emery believes that the home fans can help them wrestle it back in the return leg.

The French champions will be heavy favourites to progress to the last four when the two meet again in Birmingham next Tuesday night (20:00 BST).

But Villa are unbeaten in front of their own fans this season in the Champions League - even recording a home league phase win over six-time winners Bayern Munich.

In fact, the Premier League side have 11 wins and six draws from their past 17 home games in all competitions, a run which stretches back to late autumn.

"We will play at home next week and it will be a huge challenge for us, but we will feel strong at home with our supporters at Villa Park," said Emery.

"We believe in our supporters, we believe in Villa Park and that the players can get the best performance next week."

  4. Mendes late strike puts PSG in control against Villapublished at 07:08 British Summer Time 10 April

    PSG 3-1 Aston Villa

Right, we are going to dive straight into reaction from Parc des Princes, where Aston Villa battled hard to stand up to an impressive Paris St-Germain side.

Unai Emery's outfit took the lead through a well-worked breakaway team goal that was finished off by Morgan Rogers.

But PSG stormed back with a dynamic team performance peppered with individual brilliance that left the neutrals purring.

Superb finishes from rising teen star Desire Doue and the brilliant Khvicha Kvaratskhelia nudged Luis Enrique's well-drilled side back in front before a composed effort from Nuno Mendes in stoppage time tipped the tie in their favour.
