Walsall are looking to win nine league games in a row for the first time in their history.

League Two leaders Walsall will be looking to make club history today as a win would mark the first time the club has ever won nine league matches consecutively.

Their last eight games have been won by a combined 18-4 scoreline.

They come up against an MK Dons side who have just one win in their last six league games and have only won four games on the road this campaign.

The Saddlers have won just one of their last five home league games against MK Dons, though have kept a clean sheet in each of their last two such matches.

MK Dons have won each of their last two league games against Walsall and will be looking to win three in succession for the first time in the EFL.

Morecambe host Crewe in League Two this afternoon

Crewe travel away to Morecambe and will want to win to maintain their spot in the top two of League Two this afternoon.

The Shrimps who are second from bottom could close the gap to those above them with a win, currently five points adrift from safety.

Morecambe have won just two of their last 13 Football League games against Crewe, twice conceding 5+ goals in a match during that time.

After losing their first away Football League game against Morecambe in April 2010, Crewe Alexandra are since unbeaten across their last eight such matches.

  10. Can Wycombe wander on without Matt to finish the job?published at 14:52 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January

Mansfield Town v Wycombe Wanderers (15:00 GMT)

This will be Wycombe's first match since 2003 without either Gareth Ainsworth or Matt Bloomfield - that's quite a stat!

But with Bloomfield now at Luton, can Wanderers continue to buck the trend and maintain their surprise League One promotion push?

Bloomfield quit a promotion chase this week to try to avert a second successive relegation at Kenilworth Road - either way the two sides could be meeting each other next season.

Development coaches Sam Grace, Harry Hudson, Matty Dye and Jerome John are in temporary charge and have the task of protecting the division's best away record at Mansfield today while also looking for a first league win in three attempts.

The Stags might not be the ideal opposition for the novice managers with the Nottinghamshire side mounting a promotion challenge of their own and sitting four points outside the top six.

We've got two of the most talked about League One strikers to keep an eye on today as well with ten-goal Will Evans facing the visitors' Richard Kone who has 16 in all competitions so far.

This game certainly has a little bit of everything.

  13. Can Blues create daylight at the top?published at 14:43 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January

Birmingham City v Exeter City (15:00 GMT)

Birmingham City supportersImage source, Rex Features

In a parallel universe Birmingham City are running away with League One and already planning the route for the open top bus parade - mind you, in a parallel universe Blues fans would probably hope they weren't even in the third tier.

The form of Wycombe and Wrexham has prevented it becoming a procession and Huddersfield have also appeared in the rear view mirror.

But, despite all that, Birmingham are top, with games in hand and a bit of spending to surely still do in the January transfer window.

Jay Stansfield has been grabbing the headlines but with Alfie May, Willum Willumsson and Tomoki Iwata also finding the target regularly, boss Chris Davies seems to have enough firepower, not forgetting Lyndon Dykes who will surely find his shooting boots soon.

With Blues unbeaten in their past 13 leagues games at St Andrews this looks daunting for an Exeter side with two wins from 11 outings and who have lost their past two league matches.

The signing of Joel Colwill from Cardiff until the end of the season looks smart business given the impression he made at Cheltenham in the first half of the season but the loss of defender Tristan Crama leaves a hole which Gary Caldwell will need to plug.

An FA Cup upset win over Oxford last weekend has set-up a mouthwatering home tie with Nottingham Forest in round four but there are five league games to tackle before that date with the Grecians keen to stop treading water in mid-table.

  14. Postpublished at 14:42 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January

With the 3pm action rapidly approaching, let's take a look at some of the big match-ups across League One and Two today.

  15. Postpublished at 14:39 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January

    Northampton 0-0 Lincoln

A Northampton corner causes a scramble in the Lincoln box. It falls to Akin Odimayo who has a swing at it but it goes over.

  16. 'Bradford's back three were phenomenal'published at 14:36 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January

    FT: Carlisle 0-1 Bradford

    Gary Jones
    Former Bradford City captain

Bradford's back three were phenomenal, they defended really well and done what they needed to do and it gave City a base to attack.

Yes they were sloppy in the first half but they were better in the second and played in between the lines.

  17. 'It's two points dropped for Blackpool'published at 14:32 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January

    FT: Blackpool 2-2 Huddersfield

    Steve Thompson
BBC Radio Lancashire summariser & former Blackpool assistant manager

It was a mad five minutes that have cost Blackpool this game.

They were 2-0 up. It's two points dropped for me.

  18. FULL-TIMEpublished at 14:30 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January

    Blackpool 2-2 Huddersfield Town

Blackpool were halfway to a first home win since 28 September at the break but saw their 2-0 lead evaporate just five minutes into the second period in an at times crazily open game.

Rob Apter and Albie Morgan had the home side seemingly in control only for Joe Taylor, on his debut, and Brodie Spencer to level matters.

Apter had two very good chances to restore Blackpool's lead and home debutant Tom Bloxham fired wide when 12 yards out.

At the other end, Harry Tyrer did brilliantly to keep out a Tom Lees header as the match swung breathlessly from one end to the other.

Both sides also had efforts cleared off the line in the first half.

The Tangerines wait for a home win goes on while it's now 16 EFL games unbeaten for Huddersfield.

  19. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 14:30 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January

    Northampton 0-0 Lincoln

Lincoln are forced into the first change of the game as Jack Moylan is unable to continue after picking up an injury.

He is replaced by Tom Bayliss.

  20. Postpublished at 14:30 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January

    Blackpool 2-2 Huddersfield Town

A late Huddersfield free-kick is floated into the box but Matty Pearson glances wide - is that it?
