St Mirren manager Stephen Robinson tells BBC Scotland: "It was our first game in Europe in a long, long time and the boys did the club proud.

"We wanted to be in the tie going back to Paisley and we are certainly right in it.

"It’s our first real game of the season and their chances came from our slack passing, just tired minds, while I thought our chances came from really good play.

"We should have scored, but we didn’t. The boys are getting into the right positions, so it’s hard to be critical."

"Overall, I’m pleased. You won’t see many more exciting 0-0 draws. If it was 7-3, I don’t think anyone could have complained."

  3. 'McInnes has instilled resolute mindset'published at 22:06 British Summer Time 25 July

    FT: Kilmarnock 1-1 Cercle Bruges

    Tom English
    BBC Scotland's chief sports writer

They need to go to Bruges with the attitude that they can win, that they are good enough.

I think they will. Derek McInnes has instilled a resolute nature in this team, this never-say-die attitude.

When they were trailing 1-0, a lesser team might have got suckered and gone 2-0 down. Instead, it goes the other way and they finish stronger.

  4. 'Why should Killie not fancy it?'published at 22:02 British Summer Time 25 July

    FT: Kilmarnock 1-1 Cercle Bruges

    Stephen McGinn
Former St Mirren midfielder on BBC Sportsound

We have this mentality problem. If Kilmarnock had drawn 1-1 in Belgium tonight, the Belgians would believe they could come to Rugby Park and win.

When there's been nothing between the teams, when one team is flagging in the last 20 minutes and it's not Kilmarnock - why should Kilmarnock not fancy their chances next Thursday?

  5. 'Fair result'published at 21:59 British Summer Time 25 July

    FT: Kilmarnock 1-1 Cercle Bruges

    Rory Loy
Former Dundee striker on BBC Sportsound

I wonder if there'll be a tinge of disappointment for Derek McInnes with how the last 10 minutes played out because they were the dominant team at 1-1.

If they grab another goal, it puts them in a really good position.

Over the course, it was a fair result.

It'll be a different atmosphere over there, Kilmarnock need to get their preparation right because it's all new to them. If they can start well, you never know.

  6. 'We'll hang on to way we finished game' - McInnespublished at 21:56 British Summer Time 25 July

    FT: Kilmarnock 1-1 Cercle Bruges

Kilmarnock manager Derek McInnes tells BBC Scotland: "We made the changes at the right time. Cercle play with high intensity. We thought we might have been able to capitalise on that.

"It was always my intention to get two strikers on the pitch. Frazer Murray has been terrific in pre-season and he gave us a spark. The way we finished the game, we'll hang on to that.

"I'm comfortable with the result. Normally it takes two big performances. We'll take the confidence and the fitness from it."

  8. All comes down to next weekpublished at 21:49 British Summer Time 25 July

It will all be decided next Thursday, then.

St Mirren will welcome Valur to Paisley live on BBC Scotland (19:45 BST kick-off)

Meanwhile, Killie are in Bruges (19:00 BST kick-off).

Are both Scottish sides getting through?

  10. 'Strong Killie performance'published at 21:45 British Summer Time 25 July

    FT: Kilmarnock 1-1 Cercle Bruges

    Stephen O'Donnell
Former Kilmarnock defender on BBC Sportscene

Other than the goal they conceded, it was a strong performance.

A draw is a good result, but it could have been so much better.

Going over to Belgium with a draw gives them something to play for.

I'm full of optimism for this Kilmarnock side.

  11. 'Nothing to fear'published at 21:41 British Summer Time 25 July

    FT: Kilmarnock 1-1 Cercle Bruges

    Cammy Bell
Former Kilmarnock goalkeeper on BBC Sportscene

Kilmarnock reacted so well to losing that goal early in the second half and finished the game the stronger team.

If it had gone on another 10 minutes, they'd have scored.

They'll have to produce a massive performance next week to progress, but they go with nothing to fear.

Kilmarnock striker Kyle Vassell: "It was good. The way we fought at the end, that's us."

Kilmarnock midfielder David Watson: "We grew into the game, we were a wee bit nervous at the start. It was a real fight and we dealt with the challenge well."

Kilmarnock are going to have to produce a huge performance next week, but there's nothing to fear.

  17. RED CARDpublished at 21:27 British Summer Time 25 July

    Valur 0-0 St Mirren

    Valur are down to 10!

Substitute Aron Johannsson is sent off.

He is caught in possession by Jonah Ayunga and brings the striker down on the edge of his own box.

    Red card all day long.

  18. GREAT SAVE!published at 21:25 British Summer Time 25 July

    Valur 0-0 St Mirren

Expected the net to burst there.

The ball is rolled into the path of Gylfi Sigurdsson on the edge of the area, but his strong side-footed effort is terrifically tipped over the bar by Balcombe.

I have no idea how, but it is still goalless.

  19. FULL-TIME Kilmarnock 1-1 Cercle Brugespublished at 21:24 British Summer Time 25 July

    And it is.

All to play for heading to Belgium, but Kilmarnock will feel this is an opportunity missed.

It's over the wall from Frazer Murray but just over the bar.

    Unlucky. That'll be that, surely...
