Brighton v Nottingham Forest (Sat, 17:15 GMT)

    Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo on Morgan Gibbs-White not getting any minutes for England during the international break: "We are proud of all of our players that went on international break. Morgan went and he was in the squad and hopefully he gets a chance in the future.

"With Morgan, I know him so well and he knows me. We don't need to talk. For me, Morgan is a top, top player with so much talent and quality. The level of performance and quality he has been giving to us with and without the ball - I admire Morgan."

On whether he needs to prove Thomas Tuchel wrong: "He doesn't have to prove anybody wrong. This is not the state of mind that he should have. He has to compete and play and give his teammates and Nottingham Forest everything he has. Things will come naturally."

  3. Premier League confirms two transfer windows this summerpublished at 14:30 Greenwich Mean Time 27 March

While we're in an FA Cup mindset, the Premier League has held a meeting today and has confirmed that there will be two transfer windows will be in operation this summer. Here's how it will work:

    • The first will open on Sunday, 1 June and close on Tuesday, 10 June
    • This is due to an exceptional registration period for the expanded Club World Cup
    • It will re-open on Monday, 16 June before closing on Monday, 1 September
    • The league is yet to confirm the actual time it will close but in the past few years, it has been at 2300 BST
    • All Premier League clubs will be free to do business during the earlier window, not just Chelsea and Manchester City, who are participating at the Club World Cup
    • The vote to decide the dates of the transfer window was unanimous at Thursday's shareholders' meeting
  4. 'The transfer window should be closed when the Premier League starts'published at 14:27 Greenwich Mean Time 27 March

Brighton v Nottingham Forest (Sat, 17:15 GMT)

    Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo on the news that the 2025 summer transfer window will open early on 1 June: "I think honestly the big issue still remains and that is that the window will still be open when the competition of the Premier League starts.

"That battle is not won. What I believe is better for the competition is that the moment it starts, the window should be closed."

Personally think Tyler Dibling looks a quality player but not a £100m player!

Realistically, what can Southampton expect if they sanction the sale of the teenager?

'Any club paying £100m for the 19-year-old is fanciful'published at 14:19 Greenwich Mean Time 27 March

    Phil McNulty Q&A

    Phil McNulty
    BBC Sport chief football writer

Tim Parsons, Cape Town: Phil, Tyler Dibling, £100m? Rogers was £8m from Middlesbrough 12 months ago having achieved more. Dibling is ok at dribbling but, expecting any team to pay multiples of Rogers fee is nuts, right?

Hi Tim. I really like the look of Tyler Dibling but I think the notion of any club paying £100m for the 19-year-old (no matter how talented he is) with only one season Premier League is fanciful. He is Southampton’s player, though, and it is absolutely right that they reserve the right to hold out for the highest possible price if and when he does leave Saints.

Nottingham Forest are ready to offer defender Neco Williams a new contract.

The Wales international's current deal expires next summer and Forest are keen to keep him at the City Ground, with talks at a very early stage.

Left-back Williams has been a key part of a defence which has conceded just 35 goals in the Premier League this season, the third best, with Forest third in the table.

Atalanta were interested in the 23-year-old last summer but Williams remained with Forest and has played 29 times this season.

He joined from Liverpoolfor £17m in 2022 and has made 97 appearances, scoring twice.

Forest have already tied down 18-goal Chris Wood to a new deal until 2027 after defender Murillo signed a new four-and-a-half year contract in January.

They travel to Brighton for the their FA Cup quarter final tie on Saturday before hosting Manchester United in the Premier League next Tuesday.

'Salah makes strong case to be in Liverpool’s greatest 11'published at 14:03 Greenwich Mean Time 27 March

    Phil McNulty Q&A

    Phil McNulty
    BBC Sport chief football writer

Lee in Essex: Hi Phil, Do you think any of the players currently playing in the Premier League would get into their respective Club’s greatest ever 11? I don’t think many would. I can only think of Kevin De Bruyne and Jamie Vardy who would qualify.

What a great question. I think Mohamed Salah makes a strong case to be in Liverpool’s greatest 11, while some of their fans would also try to build a case for Virgil van Dijk. He would be up against huge competition, though, when you think of players like Alan Hansen, Mark Lawrenson – and going even further back people like Ron Yeats. It’s a brilliant debating point.

I’d certainly have no arguments about Kevin De Bruyne and Jamie Vardy.

"He will not be available for this game. He felt a kick really hard on his hip so there is pain there. We have to wait."

I 100% agree with Rob although I do need to declare an interest. I am a Villa fan who has never seen my team lift the FA Cup (I was born a few months after they last won it). If Bournemouth could beat Man City then not only will we have the most interesting semis for years but also it is the best chance my team will ever have. All this assumes that we don’t slip up away at Preston of course.

Graham, in Preston: Hi Phil, Are the Villa players thinking so much about Paris St. Germain that they will underestimate Preston North End?!

I don’t think they will be thinking about PSG just yet Graham, but I suspect you are hoping they will be. I bet Unai Emery will be flushing out any signs of complacency because the FA Cup represents a huge chance for a trophy, and he loves those in cup competitions.

Big chance for Proud Preston, though, Graham and we all know what the FA Cup can bring.
