It was a dream debut for Taylor Harwood-Bellis, who came off the bench to score England's fifth - but his future father-in-law was not happy.
Harwood-Bellis is engaged to Roy Keane's daughter Leah and the former Republic of Ireland midfielder, who was at Wembley as a pundit for ITV, joked the nuptials could be in jeopardy
"It's bittersweet for me this. It is not done and dusted yet," Keane said, in his own inimitable style.
"Things can change very quickly in the Keane household, let me tell you."

Of them, I'd certainly pick out Noni Madueke who showed himself to be a really live option to play instead of Bukayo Saka. I think Curtis Jones of Liverpool over the course of these two matches, Angel Gomes and Lewis Hall as well.
I think it's simply the balance, that was a big thing for Carsley's England. The balance was for the most part there and that does help when you have a left-footed left-back in the team and that's what Lewis Hall has provided in these matches.

Lee Carsley did what he set out to do: win promotion and develop England's playing style. He was vilified when England lost one game, by writers the majority of whom have never managed or played at any notable level. He was prepared to try different things to move England away from the turgid side passing and procrastination on the ball at Euro '24. Carsley has also proved that the succession model can work.

Keane was a pundit on ITV last night and when he was asked about Harwood-Bellis scoring against Republic of Ireland quipped the defender's marriage to his daughter is "not done and dusted yet. Things can change very quickly in the Keane household".

It gives Thomas Tuchel food for thought because I guarantee there are some players that Carsley has put in that Tuchel wouldn't have had a look at and now he knows what these players can do.

Given that England haven't won a trophy since Le Tournwa (is that the spelling ?) in the mid 90s, you'd think we'd want to put our hearts and souls into the nation league. Serial winning nations like Spain and Italy certainly do.

He mentioned that handover, that is going to be important because there is a lot of information there on new players and systems and what worked and what didn't, how it felt, what it looked like in training and how the group was. All of that detail has to be passed on to Thomas Tuchel and that's an important part of it.

Not to make half of this morning's audience feel their age, but I wasn't actually old enough to remember England 2-2 Greece.
I looked into the details last week and I never realised that if England didn't draw that game they'd have still been able to reach the World Cup through the play-offs.
I always thought it was an all-or-nothing match.
