Exeter completed a league double over Barnsley last season, the two clubs’ only league meetings in the 21st century.
Barnsley have lost eight of their last nine Football League visits to Exeter, winning the other 1-0 in November 1980.
Since the beginning of April, only Shrewsbury (13) and Cheltenham (12) have lost more League One games than Exeter (11), with the Grecians suffering defeat in each of their last three outings.
Barnsley are unbeaten in their last eight away league games (W5 D3); the Tykes last went nine league matches on the road avoiding defeat in March 2019.
