Halifax climbed into the National League play-off places following victory over Boston at the Jakemans Community Stadium.
Defeat stretched the Pilgrims' run without a win to seven games and sees them struggling in the relegation zone – four points from safety.
Halifax went ahead with just a minute on the clock when Andrew Oluwabori pressured defender Kieran Coates and his attempted clearance fell back to the forward to slot home.
Boston came close to levelling things seven minutes after the break when Jacob Hazel got on the end of a cross from Coates but defender Will Smith cleared off the line at full stretch.
Halifax's Adam George was sent off in the 89th minute when he was shown a second yellow card but Town held on for victory.
