Ebbsfleet remain bottom of the National League after falling to a comprehensive defeat at an in-form York City side boosted by an Ollie Pearce brace.

The Minstermen took the lead when Pearce was played through on goal and fired in the 41st-minute opener.

Tyrese Sinclair doubled York’s advantage on the half-volley in the 73rd minute, and Pearce netted his second from close range when the ball fell favourably at his disposal with four minutes left in normal time.

Leeds loanee Luca Thomas made it a debut to remember when he struck in a fourth in the sixth minute of stoppage time, just before Pearce came inches away from a hat-trick with a crossbar-rattling effort.
