It is better from Alejandro Garnacho. It's another opportunity for him, he steps inside right footed and he always sees something.

Good shot, but comfortable for the goalkeeper.

  4. Postpublished at 17:58 Greenwich Mean Time 6 March

    Real Sociedad 0-0 Man Utd

A first shot in anger by Alejandro Garnacho after a driving run. It's straight into the arms of Alex Remiro but that was a decent attacking move that will provide United with some encouragement.

  5. Postpublished at 17:58 Greenwich Mean Time 6 March

    AZ 0-0 Tottenham

    Glenn Hoddle
Former Tottenham manager on TNT Sports

Another good position on the left-hand side for AZ, it was poorly defended. It was another dangerous ball in, but I think Parrott wanted the pull back.

    AZ 0-0 Tottenham

Ernest Poku goes close from a tight angle for AZ but fires across the goalkeeper and just past the far post.

  7. Postpublished at 17:57 Greenwich Mean Time 6 March

    Copenhagen 0-0 Chelsea

Tame start too in Denmark. Chelsea are playing it around well enough but there has been next to nothing in terms of goalmouth action.

  8. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 17:56 Greenwich Mean Time 6 March

    AZ 0-0 Tottenham

The hosts are forced into an early change because of injury.

Left-sided player Mayckel Lahdo goes off, with Denso Kasius replacing him.

Spurs having a decent spell with the ball but not really threatening yet.

  9. Postpublished at 17:54 Greenwich Mean Time 6 March

    Real Sociedad 0-0 Man Utd

Andre Onana is yet to be tested while his opposite number Alex Remiro has also had little to do in the opening exchanges. Both teams are playing this in second gear at the moment.

    Dream start for Rangers!

The Scottish side rob Fenerbahce of the ball on their own 18-yard line and it's poked into the path of Cyriel Dessers, who rounds the goalkeeper and his effort crosses the line - despite the best efforts of a covering defender.

    AZ 0-0 Tottenham

    Glenn Hoddle
Former England and Tottenham manager on TNT Sports

Parrott nearly gets the half a touch that was needed then for a goal. It was a dangerous ball in.

It's a massive game because of the circumstances. Spurs will want to go all the way to the final, and then at the final anything can happen. But there's a lot of hard work to do before that.

  12. 'Positive play' from Man Utdpublished at 17:51 Greenwich Mean Time 6 March

    Real Sociedad 0-0 Man Utd

    Michael Brown
Former Manchester City midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

    Quick tempo.

Joshua Zirzkee on the half-turn and he is playing central. It was positive play, but Real Sociedad are defensively sound.

  13. Postpublished at 17:51 Greenwich Mean Time 6 March

    AZ 0-0 Tottenham

A dangerous moment for the Spurs defence early on.

AZ create an overlap on their left side and Troy Parrott almost gets on the end of a low cross at the near post.

The ball is diverted wide and a goal kick is given, but that was slightly too easy for the Dutch side.

  14. Postpublished at 17:49 Greenwich Mean Time 6 March

    Real Sociedad 0-0 Man Utd

It's the Europa League or bust for Manchester United. A tame start in the Basque Country. United have already ventured into the Sociedad penalty area through Rasmus Hojlund but it's easily cleared.

Real Sociedad v Man Utd (17:45 GMT)

    Rene Meulensteen
Former Manchester United coach on BBC Radio 5 Live

Yes, you can have your principles on style of play, but I think that always needs to compliment the players that you've got. I think Amorim is creating himself a bit of a problem.

There's been a change of manager at Rangers since they were most recently in Europa League action, with Phillippe Clement leaving the club last month and club legend Barry Ferguson being appointed as interim boss.

In the opposite dugout this evening will be someone vastly more experienced when it comes to managing on big European nights - Jose Mourinho.

"He's a top-class manager and I'm really looking forward to coming up against him," said Ferguson, who will be taking charge of his first European match as a manager.

"I know a lot of people say he's a defensive coach, but he's a top coach also. He knows how to set up teams and the way that they play.

"We've watched probably 10 games over the past four days and I don't see the way his team play as a defensive team.

"I'm expecting a tough game. The players know that as well. So we're prepared as much as we can and we need to go and certainly give a performance that I expect from them."

  19. 'Zubimendi is ill'published at 17:41 Greenwich Mean Time 6 March

Real Sociedad v Man Utd (17:45 GMT)

    Michael Brown
Former Manchester City midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

The main talking point is Martin Zubimendi. We are hearing he is ill. That's a massive blow for Real Sociedad.

  20. 'It's about us playing the game that suits us'published at 17:40 Greenwich Mean Time 6 March

    AZ v Tottenham (17:45 GMT)

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou, speaking to TNT Sports: "If they're in the team, they're fit. There's no risk. Obviously the returning players haven't played in a while so it's about how we reintegrate them and like I say we've had a good recovery from the last game.

"I think the start of the game is going to be crucial, whenever you play away from home especially in Europe the opposition will get energy from the crowd. We've just got to make sure we stay calm through that process and hopefully throughout the course of the game allow our football to dictate how the game is played."
