It's been tough going for League One leaders Wycombe so far at Adams Park, where Mansfield gave as good as they got in the first half and have continued to battle well early in the second.

    Exeter 0-1 Birmingham

First substitution of the night, and it is an attacking one from the home side.

Young debutant Jay Bird is off for left-footed forward Sonny Cox who is yet to score in the league this season.

AFC Wimbledon have a second, Omar Bugiel further ruining the centenary game for Jordan Turnbull as he makes his 100th appearance for Tranmere in tonight's game.

It's still goalless between Cambridge and Bolton but the U's are down to 10 men - Jubril Okedina has been sent off early in the second half.

  5. Postpublished at 20:55 Greenwich Mean Time 26 November 2024

    Exeter 0-1 Birmingham

Up until their loss in North Wales on Saturday, Exeter City had conceded the least goals in the league, on the other hand, their mere 14 scored is the lowest tally in the top half of the table.

They survive successive Birmingham corners early in this second half.

  6. goal

GOAL: Barnsley 1-1 Readingpublished at 20:53 Greenwich Mean Time 26 November 2024

    Sam Smith (50 mins)

    Game on.

Reading forward Chem Campbell curls one into the far corner but whether it would have met goal we will never know because his teammate Sam Smith poaches it and diverts it to the other side of the net.

Another draw at Oakwell between these two sides? It doesn't feel likely.

My intuition says there's more goals in this one but whether it's as sharp as Smiths, we will have to find out.

  7. Postpublished at 20:52 Greenwich Mean Time 26 November 2024

    Wrexham 0-0 Lincoln

The answer to my earlier question about whether Wrexham could mount a charge in the second-half seems to have been given after Elliot Lee forces Lincoln keeper George Wickens into an early save.

Wonder if they've took a glance at the Birmingham score and are feeling irked to see themselves drop to third... at least for now...

  8. Exeter v Birmingham (in the league) a rare treatpublished at 20:50 Greenwich Mean Time 26 November 2024

    Exeter 0-1 Birmingham

City and Birmingham have only played each other in four League games before tonight, in the 1990-91 and 1991-92 seasons, both in the Third Division.

But they have however played each other seven times in the League Cup!

Birmingham had the lions share of the first half, can the Grecians bounce back in the second 45 minutes? They are underway again in Devon now.

As it stands, it's a good time to be an EFL fan in the West Midlands.

Both Birmingham and Walsall's respective goals are seeing them inch closer to a place at the top with games in hand.

Can Exeter or Bromley put a dampener on their high spirits?

    #bbcefl

After a quiet start, both games had goals in the final 10 minutes of the half.

Walsall lead Bromley 1-0 in their first-ever Football League meeting thanks to left-back Liam Gordon's breakaway goal.

And AFC Wimbledon's top scorer Matt Stevens has his side 1-0 up at Tranmere Rovers.

Fifth-placed Huddersfield, unbeaten in their past six matches, are 1-0 up at Leyton Orient at half-time - Michal Helik with the goal. An own goal by Bryant Bilongo means Blackpool are 1-0 up at Bristol Rovers at the break. Meanwhile, Wigan are two up at home to Northampton after goals from Jonny Smith and Thelo Aasgaard, while it's still goalless between Cambridge and Bolton and bottom side Burton and Charlton.

  12. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:35 Greenwich Mean Time 26 November 2024

    Barnsley 1-0 Reading

The home side enter the tunnel ahead after Davis Keillor-Dunn capitalised on Reading's sluggish start but with the visitors beginning to find their way, will they hold on until the end?

  13. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:35 Greenwich Mean Time 26 November 2024

    Wycombe 0-0 Mansfield

League One leaders Wycombe, chasing a 10th straight win in all competitions, certainly haven't been having things all their own way against Mansfield, who have caused them some problems.

  14. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:35 Greenwich Mean Time 26 November 2024

    HT: Exeter 0-1 Birmingham

Exeter have been second best to a Blues side who's 70% possession tells a lot of the tale.

But they have only used it to their benefit to score once, that Tomoki Iwata strike on 11 minutes.

7,928 the attendance at St James Park, including 998 supporting the away side. One of Exeter's biggest midweek crowds in recent times, and on a horrible night weather-wise for it too!

  15. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:33 Greenwich Mean Time 26 November 2024

    Wrexham 0-0 Lincoln

Lincoln have had more chances but it's Wrexham's Lewis Brunt who will be feeling robbed after hitting the crossbar with a strong header.

  16. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 20:32 Greenwich Mean Time 26 November 2024

    Wrexham 0-0 Lincoln

Wrexham's Lewis Brunt gets his head on the end of the ball and gives it an almighty flick that rattles the cross bar.

By far the best chance of the game for the Red Dragons. Will this rally them for a strong second-half?

And now the goals are flying in in League Two.

Liam Gordon, the Walsall left-back with three on his back gets his first of the season from the striker's postion charging through the middle.

He needs no helpers as he charges forward himself to fire into the top corner just before the interval.

David Okagbue gets another assist for the Saddlers this season, not that he would have expected it from his own half mind.

    Walsall 1-0 Bromley.

  18. CLOSE!published at 20:29 Greenwich Mean Time 26 November 2024

    Wrexham 0-0 Lincoln

There's some back and forth in Wrexham's final third but eventually it falls to Lincoln midfielder Dom Jefferies.

He sends it towards Jack Moylan, who hits a low strike but the connection is far from ideal and it goes rolling wide of the post.

  19. Postpublished at 20:25 Greenwich Mean Time 26 November 2024

    Wycombe 0-0 Mansfield

Mansfield continue to cause leaders Wycombe some problems. Hiram Boateng is the latest to go close for the Stags, sending a left-footed strike wide after being found by Will Evans.

You know the drill, the second your text commentator types 'still 0-0 in both League Two matches,' that fact becomes inaccurate.

No surprise that it is Matty Stevens (his 11th this season, his eighth in the league) who opens the scoring in the fourth tier tonight, AFC Wimbledon closing in on the play-off places above them with this one of two games in hand on Grimsby and Chesterfield above them.
