Goals from Callum Stead and Ryan Glover earned Barnet a 2-0 victory over Accrington.

Stanley had their first scoring chance in the opening stages when Josh Woods' looping header went straight into the hands of Barnet goalkeeper Cieran Slicker.

Four minutes later, Barnet's Idris Kanu tried his luck from distance with a curling effort that went inches wide.

The home side continued to apply pressure as Adam Senior did brilliantly to glide the ball into the path of Stead, whose shot was parried by Accrington keeper Ollie Wright.

Stead got his reward moments later, breaking the deadlock for the hosts after finding himself unmarked following Kanu's deflected cross and slotting home.

The visitors responded with two chances in quick succession through Charlie Brown and Woods, but both efforts went narrowly wide.

In the second half, John Doolan's side pushed hard for an equaliser through Isaac Heath, whose deflected shot ricocheted off the woodwork.

With 12 minutes remaining, Glover sealed the points, curling a left-footed shot into the bottom corner.
