Queen's Park lost 2-1 at bottom-of-the-Championship Airdrieonians last weekend. They needed extra-time to get past League One Montrose in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup.

Nobody saw this coming.

Queen's Park hero Calum Ferrie tells BBC Scotland: "I'm ecstatic. You'd struggle to write a script like that. The boys in there, the whole squad, boys who were even injured today, have been fantastic all week.

"We've prepared right, we've believed we can get a result out of this game. Nobody's invincible, we've said that all week. It's worked well for us.

"We were under severe pressure for a long time, we're not going to hide that fact. These are European standard players, we're in the Scottish Championship. There is a big gulf.

"At the end of the days, it's 11 against 11 and the boys were brilliant. They're going to be very tired, and when the adrenaline wears off they'll start cramping up.

"It was a good penalty and I've just got lucky that I've gone the right way. I changed my mind at the last minute. It's something you dream of."

Queen's Park manager Callum Davidson tells BBC Scotland: "We knew Rangers would dominate the ball. They obviously have better players but we managed to do everything right on the day and get the result.

"Just absolutely delighted inside for all the players and the club. I'm absolutely thrilled to be in the next round.

"I couldn't believe it at the end to be honest with you.

"Our captain pulled us out of trouble. It's actually a good penalty, it's just a wonderful save. Calum performed at a top level."

It's as if it didn't mean enough to the players.

Maybe they think because they got to the last 16 of the Europa League that it's fine and they're done.

It's not.

Rangers manager Philippe Clement also told Premier Sports: "They built credit back the last weeks and months with the fans. Today, they lost everything."

[On whether a manager can survive a trophyless season] "It happened several times in the past. We know it's a rebuild. I'm focused on the next game.

"It was nothing to do with tactics, or whatever. It's about the quality of the moment and that, we missed today.

"Yes, I'm confident about [my position]. Everybody knows how hard everybody is working together. Last week, everyone is saying the team is taking good steps and growing."

More from Philippe Clement to BBC Scotland: "It's a big frustration for all of us. The biggest difference is the efficiency between the Europa League and today. We have to do much better in the final third.

"In domestic games, there's been consistency in the last two months. This was a set back today. It was too much in emotions in the second half, too rushed from the team to score and less composure than the last few months.

"It was one moment. I won't take conclusions from all season from one moment. We wanted it too much, because of that there was no composure.

"Results like this, I'm frustrated about it. The only way for this club to get consistency for the future, to build something, is to keep consistency.

"They are right to be angry, now. I'm angry also. It's unacceptable and the players know that."

Rangers manager Philippe Clement tells BBC Scotland: "The first half, not a high enough tempo. Because of that, we didn't create enough.

"Second half, there was more chances but too much in a rush. One chance against, and they get the goal. It's a hold up at the end, but we should have been better with our efficiency.

"We had more efforts on target today than we have had all season, but we didn't manage to score - not even with a penalty. We lacked quality in the last decision-making and last action.

"Maybe the team wanted to react too much. I was not happy at half time, but they need to keep composure in these moments."

"We couldn't go gung-ho and attack them. The goal gave us something to hang on to and I'm delighted got the players.

"It was a real tough tie, no one expected that. We had four fit defenders. I woke up at 1.30am and hoping no one was ill. We didn't have a back-up plan."
