A back pass is picked off by Hamza Igamane but he takes far too long to decide what to do, and eventually lays the ball off to Mohamed Diomande instead of shooting.

Queen's Park frantically get numbers back and the chance is squandered.

The longer this remains goalless, the more this has the feeling of a training game.

Hamza Igamane has been nutmegging folk left, right and centre, while Vaclav Cerny and Ianis Hagi have enjoyed escaping defenders.

However, it's all come to naught thus far.

There's not a lot of pace on the ball so he should be heading that back across goal for someone else to tap it in.

A deep cross from the right finds Nedim Bajrami at the back post, but he plants his header straight at Calum Ferrie.

It's going to be a long day for the Queen's Park keeper.

Rangers keep piling on the pressure, particularly down the left-hand side through Jefte, but the final ball hasn't been there so far.

However, Queen's Park haven't threatened at all and there is a feeling of inevitability around the ground currently.

I don't know what Ferrie was doing there.

Rangers work a short corner to the edge of the box and Ianis Hagi winds up a shot from distance, but it's high and wide.

Rangers' record in the Scottish Cup reads just two wins in the last 15 years - but the last time they didn't get to the quarter-finals was back in 2015.

They were still in the Championship that season, knocked out in the fifth round by Raith Rovers.

After League Cup success last season though, Clement's side go in with confidence.

Queen's Park might not have won the Scottish Cup since 1893 but they remain the third most successful club in the tournament.

Only Celtic (42) and Rangers (34) can better their tally of 10 triumphs.

However, they've not been to the fifth round since 2009 and haven't been further since 1957.

Dunfermline Athletic manager Michael Tidser tells BBC Scotland: "The thing that frustrates me the most is losing the goals just before half-time and just after half-time.

"We had big chances to score but unfortunately we couldn't take them. I'm really proud of the lads, this is a tough place to come and we stood up to it for long spells.

"Ewan Otoo has been first class since I walked in the building, today he was outstanding in a congested midfield with experienced players.

"I can take loads from today, the players stood up to the task. It's fine margins but it's big moments. Our focus is now on the league."

Aberdeen manager Jimmy Thelin tells BBC Scotland: "It's really nice for everyone involved at Aberdeen to make it to the quarter-finals.

"It's important for us to get through. The new players also did well on the pitch so right now we're happy.

"Our focus point today is how we created our own goals. There's a lot of new players, it was good to see how they conducted themselves.

"We're going to take the positives from this game and use them to try and grow for the next league game."
