Reading have released a statement to confirm that owner Dai Yonge has "committed to a letter of intent with a potential purchaser" for the club.

"The parties will now enter a period of exclusive negotiation to agree the final terms," the statement said.

"The completion is expected to take up to two months, at which time the purchaser will be announced.

"The transaction would include the transfer of Mr Dai’s shareholding in The Reading Football Club Limited, as well as the Select Car Leasing Stadium and Bearwood Park training ground.

"The club will communicate with further updates when appropriate."

Reading are 18th in League One and have been deducted six points this season due to financial issues.

Tony James, proud Dad of Jordan James speaking to BBC Radio Wales Breakfast: "Immensely proud. It’s been a whirlwind since he got invited to the squad. It’s gone so fast.

"For him to be potentially getting his tenth cap this evening. It is unbelievable. If you ever get to speak to JJ, you will realise what a level headed and calm kid he is. It surprises me how easily he deals with things.

"He knows it is a massive game. All the players realise how big a game it is but honestly, if you spoke to him, it’s as if he’s going over the field with his mates playing.

"If they get to Germany, we’re all geared up ready to go so fingers crossed and that will be our family holiday for the summer."

    Helen Ward
Former Chelsea and Wales striker on BBC Radio Wales

As for Rob Page, he has had a lot of criticism, unfairly so in my opinion, but he's done really well with this group in the last few months. They've really stepped it up.

The boys really play for him. They believe in what he's doing and they believe in each other and I think that's the biggest thing, they believe in each other with themselves and you can see that in their performances on the pitch.

I thought the character they showed, or they have shown in recent games has been fantastic and the energy levels are really high.

They’re starting games really fast and that's causing teams a lot of problems.

The players really showed a degree of unity [for Page when he was under pressure] and so did the coaches for their win over Croatia and since then I think there has been a discussion between Rob Page and the chief executive and I thinl things have calmed down.

I was talking to someone at the FAW in the last couple of days and they didn't think it was make or break for Rob Page. There will be some fans who say if Rob Page doesn't win this game then he has to go. But I think you have to keep remembering it is a time of transition.

For Northern Ireland, tonight's match against Scotland is a chance to build on Friday's 1-1 draw in Romania.

Michael O'Neill was manager when the sides last faced off in 2015, and although a lot has changed since that encounter, the Northern Ireland boss is hoping Scotland's journey will be a blueprint for the future.

"I was always aware that Scotland was a team that was going to grow," said O'Neill.

"They have had consistent form for a number of years. They are very much the bar for us."

Watkins or Toney? Solanke should be in that conversation.

    Keith, Beckenham

    Great shout Keith.

Dominic Solanke has scored 15 goals in the Premier League for Bournemouth this season. That's level with Liverpool's Mohamed Salah, one behind Aston Villa's Ollie Watkins and just three shy of Manchester City's Erling Haaland.

Solanke has won one cap for England, featuring from the bench in a friendly against Brazil in 2017.

Gareth Southgate didn't fancy him for this current squad but he surely has to be in contention if he continues scoring at this rate!

  13. Decisions, decisions...published at 14:18 Greenwich Mean Time 26 March

Scotland v Northern Ireland (19:45 GMT)

Scotland goalkeeper Craig GordonImage source, PA Media

Scotland head coach Steve Clarke went with a largely familiar line-up against the Netherlands but Lawrence Shankland did lead the Scotland attack instead of Che Adams or Lyndon Dykes, with Adams getting on for the final quarter.

Shankland is in a similar boat to Bologna midfielder Lewis Ferguson, still trying to establish himself at international level and hopeful of sealing a place in the squad for Euro 2024.

Clarke also has a goalkeeper dilemma to unpick. Hearts' Craig Gordon, 41, recently returned from a year out injured but has been effectively back-up to Zander Clark at club level and both feature in the current Scotland squad. Liam Kelly, of Motherwell, is also there but Norwich City's Angus Gunn is the man in possession of the number one jersey.

Scott McTominay says "there's no doom and gloom" in the Scotland squad and the players are determined to show how good they are going into Euro 2024.

Scotland face Northern Ireland live on BBC Scotland on Tuesday seeking to end a six-game winless run.

The 4-0 defeat in the Netherlands on Friday took their tally of goals conceded to 18 in those six games.

"I don't think confidence has dipped. We know we played some really good stuff the other night," McTominay said.

Watkins or Toney? As a Brentford fan I am getting chills we are discussing a current and a former Bees player for England but has to be Toney for me. He plays end to end, great scorer but has defended on the line countless times too.

    Angie

On club form, it would be criminal to overlook Watkins - but I haven’t liked what I’ve seen from him in really big games. There’s time for him to turn that around, but England feel strangely dependent on Kane as their only experienced forward now that Sterling’s out of form. Palmer as a false nine has to be tempting with Saka, Foden, Bellingham behind.

While not as regular opponents as they once were, Scotland boast a formidable record over Northern Ireland, having won three of the past four meetings and drawn the other.

It was late 1983 when Northern Ireland last beat the Scots, 2-0 at Windsor Park.

Steve Clarke's Scotland are in action this evening in the second of four pre-Euro 2024 warm-up matches.

The Scots are winless in six and lost 4-0 against the Netherlands in Amsterdam on Friday.

That run is a little misleading, though, as Scotland have draw twice during that period and the defeats came to top 10-ranked England, France, Spain and the Dutch.

Ollie Watkins' role will be similar to that of Callum Wilson at the World Cup.

Callum Wilson may not have scored a goal but every time he came on he was running in behind, being a nuisance, stretching the play and allowing the technical players to have space to get on the ball.

He [Watkins] probably hasn't scored as much as we'd like in an England shirt but if he goes to the Euros in the summer he will cause all sorts of problems off the bench.

Gareth Southgate has a wealth of riches at his disposal when it comes to players for his England squad but unfortunately he can only take 23 on the plane to Germany for the Euros this summer.

Whittling down his squad is going to be difficult, especially when some players, Harry Kane in particular, are guaranteed a starting role if fit.

Southgate will need an ace up his sleeve to lead the line, though.

What if Kane picks up an injury? What if England are chasing a game and need an extra striker on the pitch?

There are many scenarios that could fall in Southgate's lap and he needs a trusted striker to step up to the plate.

Aston Villa's Ollie Watkins and Brentford's Ivan Toney are the two leading candidates.

Watkins struggled to have much of an impact when starting against Brazil on Saturday, but he has been delivering for Villa this term, scoring 16 goals in the Premier League with only Manchester City's Erling Haaland (18) boasting a better record.

Toney, who is set to win his second cap for the Three Lions tonight, has impressed since returning from his eight-month suspension for breaching FA betting rules.

He has scored four goals in 10 appearances for the Bees in 2023-24.
