    What you were expecting everyone?

At the top of League One, Birmingham and Wrexham earned narrow wins, with Wycombe seemingly set to lose at Peterborough before a late Richard Kone equaliser saw them grab a point in injury time.

The Chairboys are now level on points with Wrexham, with the teams in second and third respectively, while the Blues have a lead of 11 points on their nearest rivals.

In League Two, Walsall's defeat earlier in the afternoon would have been a sweet melody to the ears of Bradford City fans but alas, it was not meant to be.

Gillingham beat the Bantams meaning the Saddlers stay top for now.

    The drama!

And it's all happening again as soon as Tuesday night with a load more EFL action coming your way from 19:45 GMT.

We will be here waiting for you - you in?

  2. Dowell makes the differencepublished at 17:31 Greenwich Mean Time 8 March

    FT: Birmingham 1-0 Lincoln

    Adam Cottier
BBC Radio 5Live at St Andrews @ Knighthead Park

Sometimes it's important to recognise the beauty of a penalty and Kieran Dowell's match-winner for Birmingham was superbly taken. A true, left-footed strike that rattled into the roof of the net.

He's a player who has experienced promotion twice before in the EFL. On loan from Rangers, Birmingham fans will be grateful for his conviction and composure from 12 yards.

This was a game that threatened to end in stalemate with Lincoln producing an organised performance.

But Sam Clucas was clumsy in conceding the penalty having only just come on.

Birmingham move a step closer. They surely won't be stopped.

  3. Nightmare day for EFL's bottom twopublished at 17:27 Greenwich Mean Time 8 March

    League Two table

It's been a truly dreadful day for Carlisle and Morecambe as the bottom two both lost, against lowly Harrogate and MK Dons to boot respectively, and six of the seven sides above the relegation zone this morning all won.

After parting ways with Nigel Adkins third-bottom Tranmere came from behind to see-off play-off chasing Bromley to go four points clear while struggling Gillingham denied Bradford the chance to go top with a 1-0 win at Priestfield which surely ends any thoughts of them being pulled into the mire.

  4. Wimbledon close in as top three fail to winpublished at 17:25 Greenwich Mean Time 8 March

    League Two table

With the top two both tumbling to defeat, Doncaster were the only side to pick up a point in the automatic promotion places, but missed out on victory after Swindon’s second-half fightback.

AFC Wimbledon were the only side in the top seven to win as they beat Notts County to leapfrog their opponents into fourth and put themselves firmly in the race for automatic promotion.

Crewe and Port Vale remain in the other two play-off spots after both fought back to rescue late draws, but Grimsby’s excellent win at leaders Walsall moves them within goal difference of seventh place.

Back-to-back wins have moved Colchester within four points of the play-off spots, but fellow chasers Bromley were beaten at lowly Tranmere, having led, while Salford and Fleetwood both lost further ground as they surrendered winning positions to draw.

  5. Kone late show keeps Wycombe secondpublished at 17:22 Greenwich Mean Time 8 March

Wycombe Wanderers' Richard Kone grabbed an equaliser in the 93rd minute to deprive Wrexham of a place in the automatic promotion spots.

Birmingham City have a comfy 11-point lead thanks to a Kieran Dowell penalty while Huddersfield suffered their fourth loss in five games to drop out the top six.

Benefitting are a flying Bolton Wanderers, who rise into the play-off spots thanks to a win over Burton Albion.

But for the Brewers, it will be doubly sore as a win for Bristol Rovers sees them leaving the bottom four out of striking distance with a six-point gap.

  6. 'It would have been a thoroughly deserved point'published at 17:18 Greenwich Mean Time 8 March

    FT: Birmingham 1-0 Lincoln

    Mark Hone
Former Lincoln City defender on BBC Radio Lincolnshire

It is Sam Clucas who has made a rash challenge. Lincoln could have come away with a point there and it would have been a thoroughly deserved point.

Birmingham had most of the possession throughout the game and most of the chances. Lincoln had one half chance in the second half with Reeco Hackett, but one poor defensive decision has cost at least a point.

But I can't knock Lincoln at all today for how the team was set up, or their attitude towards the game plan.

  7. 'Relief all around for Birmingham'published at 17:14 Greenwich Mean Time 8 March

    FT: Birmingham 1-0 Lincoln

    Richard Wilford
    BBC Radio WM commentator

Blues' double figure advantage at the top of the table should be restored thanks to Kieran Dowell's penalty in the final 20 minutes of the game.

There is relief all around, as Birmingham City have returned to winning ways with this win over Lincoln.

Rotherham huffed and puffed but couldn't get past Arthur Okonkwo in the home goal, while Dillon Phillips prevented the margin being wider at the other end.
