Tranmere snatched what could be a valuable point in their battle to avoid relegation from League Two by drawing with MK Dons at Prenton Park.

A first-half strike from Danilo Orsi was cancelled out by a late Luke Norris penalty as the home side extended their winless run to eight games and the visitors avoided a fifth straight loss on the road.

The away side had a glorious chance to open the scoring after 10 minutes when Scott Hogan headed straight at Luke McGee in the Rovers goal from six yards.

The Dons did take the lead just after the half hour when Danilo was the first to react after his initial shot was parried by McGee to head the ball into an empty net.

After the break, the hosts came close through Sol Solomon and substitute Norris, while Hogan could have added a second when he fail to convert with only McGee to beat.

But Tranmere were gifted a lifeline with 11 minutes remaining when Solomon was brought down in the penalty area and Norris calmly slotted home from the spot to ensure the points were shared.
