Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino spoke on supporting Chelsea's young talent: "Coaching staff are working close to the academy, we invite young players every week to train with us, it's a great opportunity for them to train with us.

"Chelsea have one of the best academies in England if not the world. It's our responsibility to take care of these guys and pay attention to them.

"They will have the opportunity to play on the squad one day, they just need to keep training, being consistent.

"We can see their evolution from them competing with senior players."

Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino spoke on their large number of injuries this season following the announcement that four more players have been added to their list: "It should be fair for us to have a fit squad. We can't prove that we are a good squad and that we can compete for big things.

"It's very tough when you don't have the squad fit. We want to increase the competition between them, but that's not an excuse."

Chelsea drew at bottom-of-the-table Sheffield United last time out, the game immediately after their dramatic win over Manchester United, when manager Mauricio Pochettino thought his side had turned a corner.

Chelsea have both scored and conceded at least twice in each of their last seven matches in all competitions and it's something the Blues boss is worried about.

"At the moment, we can't get the right balance of scoring goals and conceding less. We are struggling in this thing and it is something we need to improve if we want to be in a different position in the table." Pochettino said after the 2-2 draw with Sheffield United.

Chelsea supporters may be wary of playing another team fighting against relegation too. They have failed to beat Burnley and Sheffield United in two of their last three matches.

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou confirmed Richarlison will not be available against Newcastle because of a knee injury.

The Brazilian forward is expected to return for the north London derby against Arsenal on 28 April and the cluster of games that follow.

Postecoglou said: "He'll miss this week. He is close but the last two rounds are stacked with games and having him ready for that is more important."

"Of course he's tired, he's playing a lot of minutes."

Pep Guardiola says he hasn't spoken to Rodri since the 3-3 draw with Real Madrid but was not surprised to learn the Spain midfielder is knackered.

It is 429 days and 66 games since Rodri lost a game playing for City in any competition.

Little wonder Guardiola is loathe to leave the Spain star out of his team as they chase a second successive Treble and an unprecedented fourth straight league title.

"He is so important for us and we’ll decide tomorrow what we have to do," said Guardiola.

If City get through against Real, they will not have a spare midweek between now and the end of the Premier League season. Other than the March internationals, they have had two since the winter break in January.

More from Erik ten Hag on Manchester United's football director John Murtogh stepping down: "No [it won't affect plans].

"For me, as I said previously, I work with the new ownership very good, closely together. It will not change, it doesn't have an impact on the way I can work here. The conditions were perfect, they are still perfect. I am happy with that but we want to set the right conditions to be successful.

"I want to say thank you to John and wish him all the best for the future.

"For me previously I worked with the new ownership – very good. That will not change or impact how I work here, the conditions are still perfect. We want to set the right conditions to be successful."

"Rashy trained yesterday and [we will] see how he recovered from it. We will have training again today and then we will make a decision on it."

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag on Bournemouth's victory at Old Trafford in December: "It was after a very good performance against Chelsea in the week (Man Utd's 2-1 victory at Old Trafford).

"We were mentally not ready for that game (Bournemouth's 3-0 win). They battled us and we lost the battles.

"Tomorrow will not be different, that is the way they want to play. They want to fight with you.

"So you go into that fight, have the conviction, the belief and you need to support each other to win battles, to outplay them, outrun them and defending to match the runs."

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag on Harry Maguire nearly leaving the club last summer: "You have to see it in that perspective. We were always happy with Harry Maguire, but he wants to play. He's a great leader, he's a very good defender, very comfortable on the ball.

"When I count all of those abilities, just now when we have problems on our defending line, he is even more important to lead that line, to make us play from the back.

"So we are very pleased he is there and we need him to get our results and achieve our targets."

Now here's Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag on defensive injuries impacting results, with Raphael Varane the latest defender to be ruled out: "It's very difficult [to keep changing the defence]. Everyone who has a little bit of knowledge about football, they know it will affect your results and performances.

"The back four is always the foundation to get results - we didn't have that.

"We still have to win, we know that, so then others have to take responsibility, but when you oversee it then you know it has a negative impact."

Liverpool v Crystal Palace (Sun, 14:00 BST)

    Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp made six changes to face Atalanta and was "surprised at the intensity" the Serie A side showed. Losing 1-0 at half-time, Klopp made three changes to boost Liverpool's hopes of getting back into the game in the second half.

"That’s why we made the change at half-time," added the Reds' boss. "But they all have massive quality. We, as a group, just didn’t collectively show it.

"We need them all to be aggressive, fit and going for it. Being a bit angry, full of desire and stuff like this - not so much dealing with your own situation.

"In different line-ups, we have played really good football this year.

"There was no chance to play Trent [Alexander-Arnold]. He was on the bench because we were allowed to put 23 players into the squad. He has had only two [training] sessions."

Liverpool v Crystal Palace (Sun, 14:00 BST)

    Liverpool

Manager Jurgen Klopp said there is no "pressure" to rotate his Liverpool squad because of fixture congestion but added he has to make decisions based on the players available.

"I have to do as much as I can," said Klopp. "It is not pressure, it is just the situation.

"My job is not the easiest job in the world - it is not the most difficult as well - but when you have players you need to make sure you get them on the pitch."

Liverpool v Crystal Palace (Sun, 14:00 BST)

    Liverpool

Now here's Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp on showing a reaction to last night's shock Europa League quarter-final defeat by Atalanta. He said: "I don’t think it’s a general low point, but you can see performance-wise it was a low point.

"The good thing about a really bad performance is that you can play better, so we should start from there [against Palace]. First and foremost, this must feel bad and it does."

Klopp added: "We have to show a reaction, definitely. That is 100% clear. I will think about that but it's not the first time in my life that I lost a football game, unfortunately. We will show a reaction, I can promise."

Liverpool are second in the Premier League, level on points with leaders Arsenal but only a point ahead of Manchester City in third.

On what Manchester City striker Erling Haaland needs to do to win a Ballon d'Or, boss Pep Guardiola added: "He needs to play more minutes, to learn from what you have to do.

"But the target is not the Ballon d'Or, the target is to win trophies and he did. Would we have won five trophies last year without him? Not a chance.

"It's not about Erling or any other player. Until you retire, you can [always] be better."

Man City v Luton (Sat, 15:00 BST)

    Manchester City

On Rodri saying he needs a rest, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola said: "Take a look at our games and you realise. It is simple. He is so important for the quality he gives us. But if you have a player that doesn't want to play then he’s not going to play. If he’s exhausted, it can happen, and another is going to play.

"I’d love to rest central defenders but we don’t have them. In [England's] friendly games, [John Stones and Kyle Walker] got injured so they get cannot rest. We are in big, big trouble.

"I had the feeling we were tired in the last games. We will decide tomorrow what we have to do."
