You know with this St Mirren team under Stephen Robinson, they're going to be very organised.

When they do land on the ball, can they keep it? Because you fully expect Celtic to have control of the ball for large parts of the game.

That was quite emotional as Celtic Park paid tribute to two Lisbon Lions.

John Clark and John Fallon passed away this summer and the supporters inside this stadium showed their respect with a minutes applause.

An impressive tifo display of John Clark over 'You'll Never Walk Alone' added to the moment. Lovely touch.

A couple of decent chances for Hibs.

Kieron Bowie does well to make room for himself but places his shot straight at the goalkeeper.

A few moments later, Josh Campbell lashes with his left, but Jon McCracken saves again.

That should be 3-1 to Hibs!

A corner to the back post finds the totally unmarked Josh Campbell, but from four yards, the midfielder plants his header straight at goalkeeper Jon McCracken.

He has to score, he simply has to score. I'd love to see the xG on that.

Double swap for Hibs, as Jamie McGrath - who my colleague erroneously said missed out on the match-day squad - comes on with Josh Campbell.

Junior Hoilett and Josh Mulligan are replaced.

Just moments after coming on, McGrath skips by Clark Robertson, who brings him down. Yellow card for the Dundee skipper.

St Mirren manager Stephen Robinson tells BBC Scotland: "It's a different test. The expectation is very much on Celtic today.

"We've proved we can come here, cause problems and get results, but we have to be at our very best. The expectation has been risen at the football club based on those three top-six finishes, so we have to aim to match that expectation.

"I probably went with the fittest team that I have available to me. We lost almost 50% of the starting XI and we don't recruit like for like - we recruit projects at St Mirren. That's what we've done.

"We've recruited boys that we believe will be as good as the boys that have gone on to pastures new. This will be an eye opener for them today, so I've probably gone with a more tried and tested team that will hopefully get us through today."

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers tells BBC Scotland: "There's always a real sense of anticipation on a day like today.

"We'll have a small moment to reflect on what we did last season, but then that goes into our past and that's history. Then we go and push on and look to be the team that we want to be this season.

"I think the focus is very much on today and the players that are here. We look to win, that's the nature of being a Celtic player or manager.

"This is the team we've started with. No doubt it won't be the team we finish the game with.

"There's still a long way to go in the window. I'm now very much focused on our work on the field. We will see what the rest of the window brings for us."

Hibs have started the second half the brighter of the two teams.

But it's been a bit messy in the final third. At the moment, it feels like a third away goal is more likely than one for the hosts.

It was terrific. Every time you felt Falkirk would dominate, they got caught with balls down the sides from United and let them gain momentum.

The way they play, there's going to be goals, not always for Falkirk, because they're open, but it was great entertainment.

A draw was fair.

To be fair, after 28 minutes, I just didn’t see three goals coming in the opening period. Safe to say, though, some shocking defending by both teams led to three goals.

In the early stages, Dundee looked quite content to allow Hibs possession, but that plan went out the window after Kieron Bowie notched his first of the day.

Similarly, for Hibs second, the defending by Dundee can be best described as woeful.

Then it was Hibs who gifted a goal for their opponents. Jack Iredale won’t want to see that on Sportscene this evening. Game on!

Falkirk begin life back in the Premiership with a deserved point.

United were twice in the lead through summer signings Max Watters and Ivan Dolček.

However, Dylan Tait and Ethan Ross replied for the hosts to make sure their flag day did not end in defeat.

Falkirk have a chance to snatch it in the final seconds.

The ball falls to Aidan Nesbitt, but the midfielder snatches at his shot and is spins to safety.

Steven Pressley marches down the touchline, notebook tucked firmly under his arm. It's been a tricky first-half back in the Premiership for the new Dundee head coach.

Early on, their low block worked well. They lapsed just before the half-hour mark.

Kieron Bowie made the most of Dundee failing to clear the ball to drill in the first, before reacting first to a loose ball in the box to tuck away the second.

However, Ashley Hay made the most of a slip from Jack Iredale to set up Fin Robertson and get Dundee back into it.
