Aldershot proved too strong for a weary Morecambe side as they powered to a win over the rescued Lancashire outfit in the National League on Monday.

Morecambe only got their season started on Saturday after their much-publicised financial troubles and takeover and, after resisting for 52 minutes, capitulated in the latter stages at the EBB Stadium.

Tristan Abrahams twice tested Morecambe goalkeeper Archie Mair in the first half but the visitors had a Harry Panayiotou goal disallowed and Josh Barrett also went close.

Shots lifted the tempo after the break and broke the deadlock through James Clarridge before Archy Taylor, Josh Barrett and Dejan Tetek wrapped up the points.
