  1. 'If we don't win then it is because of Rodri'published at 13:41 British Summer Time 27 September 2024

Newcastle v Man City (Sat, 12:30 BST)

    Manchester City

Guardiola continued: "If we don’t win then it is because of Rodri. We are stronger with him and stronger with Ake and Bobb and Kevin but that is what it is. We don’t want it but it is football.

"As a club we have magnificent players and we will find a solution."

  2. Guardiola on Rodri - 'This season is over - next season he will be here'published at 13:38 British Summer Time 27 September 2024

    Manchester City

More from Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola on that injury to Rodri:

"Surgery this morning, ACL and next season he will be here. This season is over. Unfortunately we got the worst but these things happen. We will be there to support him in his recovery step-by-step.

"What he gives us, we don’t have a similar player. But the others can all together replace what Rodri has given since his arrival to us. We will have to do it as a team and find a way to play a lot of matches without an important player for us."

  3. 'We will make the decision on Raya tomorrow'published at 13:36 British Summer Time 27 September 2024

Arsenal v Leicester (Sat, 15:00 BST)

    Arsenal

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta began his news conference with an injury update. He was asked about David Raya’s chances of starting tomorrow: “We have to wait 24 hours to see if he is looking good or not that good. It’s not risk, it is about a player being fit or available or not. We will make the decision tomorrow.”

On Ben White and Jurrien Timber: “Jurrien was able to take part in training today so he will be available in the squad and Ben hopefully as well.”

On how Mikel Merino is recovering from his shoulder injury: “Tomorrow is too soon, next week we will see. He had partial training today, he has been working so hard and looked really good. It is just about the healing of that bone and how mature that is to expose us to contact basically.”

I was initially laughing at all the over the top swipes at each other by Spurs and Arsenal fans, until I remembered I'm an Everton fan.

  10. 'I'm devastated for Mosquera'published at 13:22 British Summer Time 27 September 2024

Wolves v Liverpool (Sat, 17:30 BST)

    Wolves

Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Gary O'Neil has spoken to the media before their Premier League match against Liverpool on Saturday. He was first asked about Yerson Mosquera's injury: "He's OK. He's a great kid and I'm devastated for him. It's a big loss to us. It's a big blow to the team but it brings an opportunity to others. Alfie Pond is now a step closer, for example. He has a chance."

And O'Neil added on Toti Gomes and illness within the team: "We'll test him [Toti] again in the morning. He's trained but he's not fully fit. He's getting closer. In an ideal world we'll probably leave him longer, but we'll see.

"[Dan] Bentley is fine now, but there's quite a bit of illness with players that will need a check. There's a virus going around and some players missed training today."

  11. 'They get the chance when we give it to them'published at 13:19 British Summer Time 27 September 2024

Chelsea v Brighton (Sat, 15:00 BST)

    Chelsea

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca on recent performance: "After the last game, I think its a good thing for me to have some doubt that means that they are doing well. They get the chance, when we give it to them.

"This is something important and as I said we need to continue to do it because I think we create the right culture in terms of team, competing and this is important. "

On deciding between Jackson and Nkunku: "Yeah it's one of them, but I think Pedro (Neto) did very well. Mykhailo (Mudryk) did very well the other day.

"All of them to be honest. It's important that when there is chance, even if it's 5 minutes, 10 minutes or half an hour or from the start, they give everything so it's important."

Man Utd v Tottenham (Sun, 16:30 GMT)

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport's chief football news reporter

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is having to navigate a delicate line at the moment.

He keeps stressing his side has won two trophies in two years. But he is also pointing out the club are looking to the future with their recruitment.

It is both bringing pressure for better results because you have already won and explaining why they are yet to arrive on a consistent basis.

"We have made the choice to sign young players like last year with (Rasmus) Hojlund and this year with (Joshua) Zirkzee and (Leny) Yoro, who are players we believe in both for this moment and also for the future.

"We have to work with the squad and that takes time. But I am also impatient and I want to go straight forward. We won two trophies in the last two seasons and want to win another one this season."
