The biggest issue for other WSL teams is that Chelsea have not always been at their free-flowing best this season but have still dominated. The most important stat being that they have beaten Man City, Man Utd and Arsenal EVERY TIME home and away.

Phallon Tullis-Joyce was absent from the shortlist for Player of the Season but boss Marc Skinner was full of praise for his goalkeeper.

“I actually haven’t seen the shortlist! I think she has been incredible and I must say I think they have been incredible in front of her – I must say that because Maya [Le Tissier] is my captain. In the Old Trafford game [against Man City] there was the reaction save near the post and another one where she tipped it over the bar.

"There’s not many goalkeepers who do that in the world. She makes the uncomfortable seem comfortable. I think she is incredible and deserved that accolade but I know she didn’t need that to see how far she has come and how far she has to grow. She is on a trajectory to be the best in the world, I have no doubt about that.”
