Airdrieonians inflicted Queen's Park's seventh straight defeat in all competitions with a ruthless display at Hampden Park.

The Scottish Championship's bottom side went into an early lead at the national stadium through Mason Hancock's header and doubled their advantage through a direct free-kick from Ricco Diack.

Hancock then rounded home goalkeeper Calum Ferrie to make it 3-0 at half-time and the Diamonds pressed home their advantage after the break.

Diack slotted home his second after Ferrie parried Chris Mochrie's shot before Mochrie made it five with a curling finish.

Rhys McCabe's side remain bottom of the table but have narrowed the gap to Hamilton Academical in ninth to five points.

Queen's Park have shipped 25 goals in their past seven matches and are seventh in the table, four points above Hamilton.
