Atalanta boss Gian Piero Gasperini says this is one of the biggest games in his side's history.

The Bergamo club have only won one trophy in their 116-year existence, the 1963 Coppa Italia.

"We know that it will be one of the most important games in our history, if not the most important," said Gasperini, who has been in charge since 2016.

"But these are things that are said on the eve of the game, then comes the moment when we will have to know how to isolate ourselves.

"We know the difficulty, for us they are still the same team, despite us winning the first leg.

"Tomorrow we start from 0-0, our ability will have to be not thinking about the result of the first leg, that has to be our goal.

"I expect the best Liverpool possible, with a team that will come here to play all its chances. We will have to play a great game to get a result."

  15. 'We need a complete performance'published at 19:50 British Summer Time 18 April

    Atalanta v Liverpool (agg: 3-0, 20:00 BST)

    Liverpool

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp speaking to TNT Sports: "We didn't do ourself a favour in the first leg. We just need to try and win the football game and get ahead and then we'll see how much time is left. We'll have to be good in all departments because they are a well-drilled unit and they are used to defending a result and that is probably what they'll do today.

"We have to nothing to lose and they pretty much have nothing to win from here. If we get back in the game it will be a bit nervy for them. We have to use it.

"We don't have a real advantage but there are some between the lines and that is what we have to try. We have to play a really good football game. We don't have to score twice in the first 10 minutes, but we should not concede in that time. We need a complete performance. We're here to give it a proper try."

In the last round against Qarabag, they were two goals down deep in the second half in both legs. Somehow they managed to draw the first game and win the home encounter, with two goals in stoppage time.
