    Atalanta v Liverpool (agg: 3-0, 20:00 BST)

Not a good omen for Liverpool.

In Uefa Cup and Europa League history, there have been 132 previous instances where the away side have won the first leg of a two-legged knockout tie by three or more goals.

None of the 132 first-leg losers progressed.

A week ago people were talking about a Premier League title and Europa League final farewell in Dublin for Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.

But it's been a bad week for the Reds.

They were taken apart in the first leg of this tie with Gianluca Scamacca scoring twice and Mario Pasalic adding a third.

Then they lost to Crystal Palace on Sunday, giving Manchester City the lead in the title race.

Win 4-0 today and the buzz will be back but otherwise Klopp's trophy haul at Anfield could end with the Carabao Cup.

West Ham goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski says beating newly crowned German champions Bayer Leverkusen is a "daunting challenge" but they "have to believe" to do so.

David Moyes' side are aiming to come back from a 2-0 deficit from their first leg and inflict defeat on the Bundesliga champions for the first time this season.

"They are in a very strong position when it comes to the confidence of the team, with them being unbeaten in the league and already crowned German champions," Fabianski said in the pre-match news conference.

"They are a very good side. They have proved that in the whole season but I would say we have to believe."

Plenty of talk about FA cup replays being scrapped today, but they should scrap extra-time in Europe so both teams have had the same time at home. If scores are level after two legs of 90 minutes it should go straight to penalties rather than home side in the second leg having advantage of extra half hour to win it.

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson: "We have come here to improve our performance from the last game and try to play better as a team.

"We have to try to avoid some mistakes and do better. They are a very physical side, technically and tactically too.

"They man mark all over the pitch and when you play against that you need to make sure you are willing to put in hard work and run. If you don’t then it’s pointless to go out there in the first place.

"They did an outstanding job and we produced a bad performance. This match could be a different kettle of fish, but we need to do a much better job than the first leg."
