Just a reminder, there are no away goals in tonight's competitions. So, if we were to stay level on aggregate we'd go to extra time and, potentially, penalties.

Really well worked by Lille. Yusuf Yazici has something about him.

A one-touch finish that Emi Martinez watches it go past him into the corner. A long ball in behind, then the ball across with the finish - taking the cross early means Villa were not set.

    It had been coming!

Lille get back level in this quarter-final through a fabulous side-footed finish.

Gabriel Gudmundsson goes clear down the left, cuts the ball back, and Yusuf Yazici has the calmness to find the bottom corner.

    No chance for Emiliano Martinez.

Lille 0-0 Aston Villa (agg: 1-2)

I can't remember Ollie Watkins touching the ball. Villa have been very solid so far but are offering virtually nothing in attack.

A long way to go though.

The crowd have stopped booing Emiliano Martinez now. They had gone quite hard quite early to be fair.

Pau Torres tries to set up Matty Cash down the right but the Villa man overhits his cross.

And Lille go close again as the ball is laid off to Jonathan David, but the Canadian blasts it over the bar.

Emi Martinez didn't quite get hold of the ball, but reacted to the second ball.

    Almost for Lille!

They win a corner which Emiliano Martinez flaps at. The ball almost bounces to a Lille player but Martinez does well to recover and palm it away.

Nine minutes in and neither side has had a shot. I guess this suits Villa.

Manager Unai Emery incidentally has a great record against Lille. As PSG manager his teams faced them eight times. They won seven and drew one.

I get the feeling Emiliano Martinez quite likes this role as pantomime villain.

He's been asking for the ball a lot more often than usual, and is taking his time in possession.

He's almost called into action as defender Gabriel Gudmundsson shapes up to shoot but doesn't make contact with the ball.

Lille 0-0 Aston Villa (agg: 1-2)

Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez is not a popular person in France - see the World Cup final.

There's some very loud booing going on every time he touches the ball.

Lille are organised and play good football.

But, we know the capacity of this Villa squad that combined with Unai Emery they should be comfortable that they can come here and get a result.

Douglas Luiz is some baller, he draws players towards him, creating acres and acres for others.

Villa have made a competent start.

Lille immediately give the ball away from the kick off, but soon win it back and are just passing it around at the moment.

It'll be interesting to see how Villa set up. Hold on to what they've got, or go on the attack?

Stade Pierre-Mauroy is bubbling up like a cauldron. This is going to a very intense atmosphere for Villa.

It won't get any easier either for the winner of this tie. They'll face Fenerbache or Olympiakos in the semis.
