Aston Villa boss Unai Emery on what reaching the Europa Conference semi-finals means: "Of course as coaches we can try and use our experiences to help in every match. Here in Lille, it was a difficult match against a difficult team. They are very organised and very competitive so they were very focused. But we did it!

"I try to understand each moment in how we were on the pitch and not get frustrated. They were better than us in the first half but then we scored a goal.

"With penalties it is just about keeping calm and that is what I was saying to the players. I think in the end it was fantastic."

Anon: There could be 5 L, externaliverpool players versus no defenders in the Atalanta box & they'd still conspire to fall over the ball or pass it 30 times before knocking it wide. Bring on Danns!

Bayer Leverkusen have been far better so far in the second half than they were in the first.

There is more control about their play, more incisiveness in their passing and they are keeping the ball better.

West Ham are clearly still in this but they are going to have to be nearly perfect to get the result they want.
