Trent has been magnificent in this first half but it is a long way out.

  2. YELLOW CARDpublished at 20:43 British Summer Time 18 April

    Atalanta 0-1 Liverpool (agg: 3-1)

Mohamed Salah almost sends Luis Diaz through with a ball over the top but it's cut out by Isak Hien. The arm of Hien actually and the Atalanta player is booked.

Nayef Aguerd is back on after treatment on an injury to his foot, or ankle, I am not sure which.

The Moroccan is still struggling though. He is doing that skipping motion when you don't want to put any weight on your leg.

  4. Postpublished at 20:42 British Summer Time 18 April

West Ham 1-0 Bayer Leverkusen (agg: 1-2)

Almost another for the Hammers as Jarrod Bowen swings a cross into the middle but Michail Antonio's headers is blocked.

Meanwhile, it looks like Nayef Aguerd's time is up. He's still limping and signalling to come off.

  5. 'Sloppy' from Liverpoolpublished at 20:42 British Summer Time 18 April

    Atalanta 0-1 Liverpool (agg: 3-1)

    Stephen Warnock
Former England and Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

Really sloppy and Liverpool get away with it, Gianluca Scamacca is clearly offside.

That is the thing that can change the game - sloppy play.

  6. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 20:41 British Summer Time 18 April

    Atalanta 0-1 Liverpool (agg: 3-1)

Atalanta's Teun Koopmeiners latches onto a through ball and smashes a shot past Alisson.

But as he turns away to celebrate he sees the offside flag. Goal disallowed.

  7. Postpublished at 20:41 British Summer Time 18 April

    Atalanta 0-1 Liverpool (agg: 3-1)

    Stephen Warnock
Former England and Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

A simple ball over the top and Mo Salah shanks it - it is not good enough.

A great opportunity, it's not a difficult chance of Salah's quality.

  8. Postpublished at 20:40 British Summer Time 18 April

    Atalanta 0-1 Liverpool (agg: 3-1)

Huge huge for Mohamed Salah and Liverpool, not taken. Cody Gakpo's long ball sends the goal machine in one on one. He sees the keeper off his line and tries to lob him but shins it wide. Should be 2-0.

If my life depended on a shootout, I guess I would have Emi Martinez as the goalkeeper.

Nayef Aguerd is down and seems in quite some pain, slamming his hand against the turf after landing awkwardly.

The West Ham bench looks worried.

Liverpool have to turn the chances into goals because they've got a terrible habit of giving the ball away and Atalanta are handy in front of goal.

The benches are quite a way from the pitch so they are detached from the managers, who are in their technical areas.

Evidently, angry words were exchanged, with the confrontation enough to warrant expulsion.

There is an aggressive edge to this game now, which makes it even more compelling.

  13. Postpublished at 20:37 British Summer Time 18 April

    Atalanta 0-1 Liverpool (agg: 3-1)

A few almost moments for Liverpool in Italy but they have gone 25 minutes without a shot now.

Never seen a keeper get sent off in a shoot out before so was curious what would happen. Bit of an anti-climax.

So, it turns out Emiliano Martinez was booked, but apparently yellow cards in the match don't carry over to the shootout in the Europa Conference League.

In the Europa League, Roma lead AC Milan 2-0 tonight, 3-0 on aggregate, thanks to goals from Gianluca Mancini and Paulo Dybala.

In the Conference, Fenerbahce are 1-0 up at home to Olympiakos which makes it 3-3 on aggregate.

Fiorentina have knocked out Viktoria Plzen, 2-0 in extra time.

  16. RED CARDpublished at 20:36 British Summer Time 18 April

West Ham 1-0 Bayer Leverkusen (agg: 1-2)

A red card for Billy McKinlay, one of David Moyes' coaching staff.

One of Xabi Alonso's coaching staff also received a red card for having words with McKinlay on the touchline.

As Mohammed Kudus' deep cross floated to the far post towards Jarrod Bowen, it seemed certain West Ham were about to level the tie.

Unfortunately, Bowen put it in the only place Matej Kovar could have kept it out and the Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper did his job.

West Ham boss David Moyes is getting frustrated with a few decisions that are going against his team, including what he thought was a corner actually being a free-kick to the visitors.

This is superb from the hosts so far.

  18. 'Huge difference' from Liverpoolpublished at 20:35 British Summer Time 18 April

    Atalanta 0-1 Liverpool (agg: 3-1)

    Stephen Warnock
Former England and Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

It has been a huge difference in performance from Liverpool.

The intensity and the speed in which they are closing down [is better].

  20. MISSED PENALTY - Lille 3-4 Aston Villapublished at 20:35 British Summer Time 18 April

    Benjamin Andre

    EMI MARTINEZ DOES IT AGAIN!

The Argentina keeper is down low to his left and pushes Benjamin Andre's penalty way.

He turns round and celebrates for the Lille fans straight away, but the referee blows his whistle because VAR are checking he didn't come off his line.

There's a little jig from Martinez as he gets ready to celebrate and when the whistle comes from the referee to confirm the end of the game there's a full on jig and then he wheels off to celebrate with the Villa fans.

    DRAMA!
