ROI 'have to get three points' in Greecepublished at 14:52 British Summer Time 4 April
Greece v Republic of Ireland (15:00 BST)
Republic of Ireland manager Carla Ward says her side "have to get three points" in Friday's Nations League match in Greece.
After narrowly beating Turkey in February's opener - Ward's first game in charge - the Irish were hammed 4-0 in Slovenia.
They now face a double-header with Greece, who are 35 places lower in the rankings, starting with Friday's game in Crete.
"I've been really clear to the group, we have to get three points," Ward told RTE Sport.
"That's the bottom line. I don't think anything but three points is good enough, that's being honest."
The Republic will be without the versatile Heather Payne for the first game after she was forced out of Everton's Women's Super League defeat by Manchester United with an ankle injury.
Striker Amber Barrett, who scored in Ireland's last visit to Greece in 2019, could make her 50th appearance if selected.
Former Aston Villa boss Ward will want an improvement after her side's loss in Slovenia - a result which left the Irish second in Group B2.
"Listen, they've reacted so well this week, they really have," she added.
"They've been unbelievable these last few days. I told them that last night.
"It's important to recognise how they've reacted. They've been really good."
