Salford maintained their stubborn reputation on the road as they battled to a draw away against Doncaster Rovers.

Karl Robinson’s side collected their sixth draw from eight away league matches, with Kylian Kouassi giving them the lead before Billy Sharp levelled for the hosts.

Doncaster made the brighter start but struggled for efforts on target, with Jordan Gibson and Kyle Hurst both seeing shots blocked following impressive runs.

Salford remained a threat as Kouassi sent a volley wide, while Matty Lund failed to get a decisive touch on a good delivery from Kelly N’Mai.

The visitors took the lead after 50 minutes when Ossama Ashley fed the ball in to Kouassi, who drilled home a powerful effort from the edge of the box.

Ashley almost doubled the advantage with a bouncing angled volley, but Ted Sharman-Lowe was equal to it.

Doncaster found the equaliser after 78 minutes when Joe Sbarra pounced on a long ball and squared for Sharp to tap in from close range.

But neither side could find a late winner.
