Alloa made it three wins out of three

Dundee are facing an early exit from the Premier Sports Cup after a second successive defeat left them pointless in their group as Alloa Athletic all but sealed progress to the last 16.

Steven Pressley's side, who lost at home to Airdrieonians in their first Group C fixture, were unable to find the net again and fell behind to a second-half own goal.

Luke Graham put through his own net, deflecting in a shot from Steven Buchanan, and the League 1 Wasps maintained their 100% record.

Dundee are still to face Bonnyrigg Rose away on Tuesday (19:45) and finish at home to Montrose next Saturday (15:00).

Alloa visit second-tier Airdrieonians, who sit on six points, next Saturday (15:00).

In Saturday's other Group C game, Montrose came from behind to beat Bonnyrigg 4-1 and the Link's Park side are three points above Dundee and Bonnyrigg, three points below Airdrie and six off Alloa.

Even if Dundee win their remaining cup fixtures, they can only finish second if Airdrie take nothing more - and six points almost certainly will not be enough to claim one of the three available runner-up spots.
