Kyle McAllister scored twice as Forest Green Rovers thumped Sutton United 4-0 to extend their unbeaten start to the National League season.

The home side were ahead within six minutes at the Bolt New Lawn when, after Nick Haughton had been felled in the box, McAllister converted the resulting penalty kick.

McAllister passed up an opportunity to double his tally when he volleyed over the crossbar, but his side were in complete control when Jordan Moore-Taylor headed a second past Sutton goalkeeper Jack Sims, who had earlier tipped a Haughton free-kick on to the post.

McAllister rattled the crossbar and Kairo Mitchell headed just wide before Laurent Mendy went close as Rovers turned the screw after the break, and they finally increased their advantage with 21 minutes remaining when McAllister set up West Bromwich Albion loanee Harry Whitwell to make it 3-0.

The points were sealed three minutes later when McAllister converted substitute Jili Buyabu's cross.
