Sunderland are looking to do a league double over Hull City for the first time since the 2016-17 Premier League season.
Hull are winless in 10 league games against Sunderland (D6 L4) since a 3-1 win on Boxing Day in 2014.
Sunderland are just one of two Championship sides this season, along with Leicester, without a home draw (P13 W8 L5), winning five of their last seven such games at the Stadium of Light since a 4-0 loss to Middlesbrough in October.
Only Blackburn (7) have lost more Championship games since the beginning of December than Hull (6), with the Tigers winning just one of their last six of the road (D1 L4).
Only Sammie Szmodics (16), Morgan Whittaker and Adam Armstrong (both 14) have more Championship goals this season than Sunderland’s Jack Clarke (13), though just two have come at the Stadium of Light, with his last league goal there coming against Norwich in October.
