  1. Wimmer explains change of goalkeeperpublished at 14:59 British Summer Time 3 May

    Dundee v Motherwell (15:00)

Motherwell manager Michaell Wimmer tells BBC Scotland: "We are responsible for our performance. We are responsible for the fans that make us travel. We have to bring a good performance.

"We want to collect as many points as possible. I think seven points is a good difference, but I think it's not enough.

"I think [Dundee] have to win. We don't change our behaviour. We want to play forward. We want to play progressive."

On changing goalkeepers, Wimmer adds: "Ellery [Balcombe] did it brilliant. His performance was very well. He's a perfect guy.

"But Aston [Oxborough] was number one before I came. I have no picture from him, so I'm really looking forward to see him on the pitch. I want to get a picture. I think it's a good moment to change."

  2. Two sides on poor runpublished at 14:57 British Summer Time 3 May

Ross County v Heart of Midlothian (15:00)

    Brian McLauchlin
    BBC Scotland in Dingwall

The loss of form for the Staggies in recent weeks has plunged them into the relegation play-off spot.

It's now five straight league defeats and quite simply they must win games to avoid another nervous battle to retain their Premiership hopes.

Hearts, having beaten County in March and having looked safe from any end of season drama, have also plummeted and are without a win in any of their last five games.

In addition, they have not scored in their last four in the league - hence why Neil Critchley was shown the door last week.

  3. Dundee eyeing back to back winspublished at 14:55 British Summer Time 3 May

    Dundee v Motherwell (15:00)

    Jane Lewis
BBC Sport Scotland at Dens Park

The sun is shining here in Dundee and this is a big game for the home side.

Only two points off the relegation spot, they need to be after another win.

However, back-to-back victories in the league is something that the club haven't achieved as yet this season.

Motherwell look all but safe, but no-one at the club is saying that publicly and probably quite right too. The visitors are also looking for back-to-back wins but know Dundee will be full of fight.

  4. McInnes wants repeat performancepublished at 14:54 British Summer Time 3 May

    St Johnstone v Kilmarnock (15:00)

Kilmarnock manager Derek McInnes tells BBC Scotland: "Last week was a carbon copy of the home win we had against Motherwell. Really efficient.

"That's two clean sheets, two victories in which we were well worthy of our wins. We had to respond last week and now we need to build on that.

"At this stage, every game is so important. The results last week mean Motherwell are the team now that relax and enjoy this part of the campaign.

"We played St Johnstone a few weeks back and had a comfortable win and we need to replicate that type of performance."

  5. Top-three race and Euro ambitions at stakepublished at 14:53 British Summer Time 3 May

    St Mirren v Aberdeen (15:00)

    Martin Dowden
BBC Sport Scotland at SMiSA Stadium

St Mirren find themselves with a shot to nothing, outside chance of aiming for European football.

They must win to retain that hope, but having reached top six again, they can play with a bit of freedom knowing they have already achieved. The pressure is off.

Aberdeen less so. They face Rangers then Celtic next so will surely be aware that three points in the race for third here may well come in very handy come the season conclusion.

  6. Desperate Saints host poor travellerspublished at 14:52 British Summer Time 3 May

    St Johnstone v Kilmarnock (15:00)

Time is fast running out for St Johnstone.

Simo Valakari's side, six points adrift at the bottom, have won three of their latest five home games, with champions Celtic their latest victims - but three straight defeats overall put them in a precarious position unless they secure their first back-to-back home wins since December 2023.

They surely will fancy their chances considering Kilmarnock arrive having lost seven in a row on the road - and the latest two by 5-1.

Indeed, Derek McInnes' side are 12 without a win away from home since beating Hearts in October.

  7. Return of experienced players key - Dochertypublished at 14:51 British Summer Time 3 May

    Dundee v Motherwell (15:00)

Dundee manager Tony Docherty tells BBC Scotland: "I've been pleased with the real mentality and the spirit of the squad.

"It's no coincidence the run of form since the last Motherwell game, because I've got a lot of experienced players back - Joe Shaughnessy in particular coming in as my captain.

"I was really pleased with that last week. I thought we showed a real mentality, a real resilience and a spirit about our performance. There was a lot of good play within that as well. So I'll be looking to replicate that."

  8. Goodwin goes for 'physical presence'published at 14:50 British Summer Time 3 May

    Hibernian v Dundee United (15:00)

Dundee United manager Jim Goodwin tells BBC Scotland: "The team have always performed well here.

"The previous fixture was a really close encounter and we're expecting no different here this afternoon.

"We had a lot of success in the 3-5-2 against them at Tannadice - a real physical presence at the top end of the pitch with Sam Dalby and Jort Van der Sande.

"There will be a big onus on the likes of Will Ferry and Ryan Strain to give us width and to provide service to the boys up top.

"Depending what happens in the St Mirren v Aberdeen game, a win here could be huge, but the focus is on ourselves, what we can do and we'll need a really good performance against a very good team."

  9. Gray expects Hibs 'reaction'published at 14:49 British Summer Time 3 May

    Hibernian v Dundee United (15:00)

Hibs head coach David Gray tells BBC Scotland: "It's a massive game.

"Great that it's at home. It'll be a full house and we'll make sure the crowd gets behind us. As I've said before, we've got four cup finals to go and this is the first one.

"The players are in a really good place. I know we've had a setback last week, but I saw the reaction in the players in training."

  10. Will Fox make quick Hearts start?published at 14:48 British Summer Time 3 May

Ross County v Heart of Midlothian (15:00)

Hearts go into their first game since the sacking of Neil Critchley - and Liam Fox's second spell as caretaker - without a win in five outings, having lost three of their final league games under the Englishman, and failing to score.

However, County have themselves lost five in a row, including their latest two at home and have not beaten Hearts in three meetings this season - two draws following by a defeat at Tynecastle.

Indeed, County have only won one of 18 meetings with Hearts - a 2-1 home win in March last year.

  11. County lacking 'final-third intent' - Cowiepublished at 14:47 British Summer Time 3 May

Ross County v Heart of Midlothian (15:00)

Ross County manager Don Cowie, whose side have lost five straight matches, tells BBC Scotland: "We are where we are, we don't want to be here and it's not something we enjoy, but we have to come together, be united and find a way to get out of this situation.

"Naturally, when you're on a run like that, you could feel a little sorry for yourself, but it's my job to remind them what they've done throughout the season.

"There has not been a lot in the past five games. However, we need to do more. We need to have a bit more intent in the final third - we start with three forwards and it's up to us to service them."

  12. Saints must 'do talking on the field'published at 14:46 British Summer Time 3 May

    St Johnstone v Kilmarnock (15:00)

St Johnstone manager Simo Valakari tells BBC Scotland: "It's big that we play at home in front of our own fans. We need to use this advantage and try to perform and get the results.

"We have been very honest with each other - we've not been good enough in some moments. In this league, if you don't do things right, you'll get punished and that's what happened in the last match.

"We need to keep our standards high for 90 minutes and then we have a chance. We need to do our talking on the field."

  13. Will Well secure safety?published at 14:45 British Summer Time 3 May

    Dundee v Motherwell (15:00)

Motherwell are the only side in the bottom six who can secure safety from relegation today.

They ended a run of four games without a win by beating St Johnstone last weekend and another, combined with a defeat for Ross County against Heart of Midlothian, would be enough.

However, they lost 4-1 on their last visit to Dens Park in December and their third-bottom hosts are improving - having won three of their last five league games, as many as their previous 16 beforehand.

Indeed, Well have lost seven of their latest eight away games, conceding goals at a rate of two per game and scoring just five.

  14. Will Dons end poor Paisley run?published at 14:43 British Summer Time 3 May

    St Mirren v Aberdeen (15:00)

Aberdeen will look to capitalise on any slip-ups by their rivals for third place and arrive in Paisley unbeaten in eight outings.

However, St Mirren are themselves unbeaten in three at home and have won their two latest meetings with the Dons.

Indeed, Aberdeen have not won in Paisley since progressing in the Scottish Cup in February 2020, since when they have lost six of their seven visits.

  15. Hibs and United look to extend recordspublished at 14:41 British Summer Time 3 May

    Hibernian v Dundee United (15:00)

Hibs remain in pole position in the three-horse race to finish third in the Premiership - despite their long unbeaten league run being ended by Aberdeen last weekend.

The Leith side are ahead of the Dons on goal difference, with today's visitors, United, three points behind after their own winning run came to a halt at the hands of a rampant Celtic as the visitors clinched the title.

Jim Goodwin's side are unbeaten in five visits to Easter Road, but after Hibs' 3-1 win at Tannadice in February, the hosts could pick up back-to-back top-flight victories over United for the first time since 2006.

A win today would be Hibs' seventh in a row at home in the league - their longest Premiership run since 2018 under Neil Lennon.

  16. Time to 'stand up and be counted' - Foxpublished at 14:39 British Summer Time 3 May

Ross County v Heart of Midlothian (15:00)

Interim Hearts head coach Liam Fox tells BBC Scotland: "It's been a challenging week, but the players have acquitted themselves very well in training.

"It's been a consistent message that it's time to stand up and be counted now. I've based team selection on what I've seen this week in training - really simple.

"We know we need to do better, but hopefully we can finish the season strongly. Whoever comes in, it's a fantastic job, a huge job and the players will have that in the back of their minds they want to try and impress."

  17. 'We're coming here to win' - Robinsonpublished at 14:37 British Summer Time 3 May

    St Mirren v Aberdeen (15:00)

St Mirren manager Stephen Robinson tells BBC Scotland: "We need to win.

"We've nothing to lose, we've had a great season and, while we've still got the chance to better that, we'll continue to play with the intensity that we play with.

"I'd rather be in this scenario than in the bottom six where, if you go on a losing run, you're in big, big trouble. I enjoy winning football matches and we're coming here to win the game."

  18. Will Bonnyrigg or Forfar complete big escape?published at 14:35 British Summer Time 3 May

    Scottish League 2

Peterhead clinched the title and automatic promotion from the fourth tier by beating closest rivals East Fife last weekend.

The Fifers will take on whoever finishes third between Edinburgh City or Elgin City in the play-off semi-final.

East Fife could have a big say in who they will face as they host Elgin, who are a point behind Edinburgh, in today's final fixtures, with the capital side facing a city derby away to Spartans.

Bonnyrigg Rose gave themselves hope of avoiding bottom spot and going into the relegation play-off - despite having been deducted six points after issues with their pitch - after beating Spartans while Forfar Athletic drew.

Going into the last round of matches, the Angus side, at home to Stirling Albion, are two points clear, with the Rose travelling to Stranraer.

    • Clyde v Peterhead
    • East Fife v Elgin City
    • Forfar Athletic v Stirling Albion
    • Spartans v Edinburgh City
    • Stranraer v Bonnyrigg Rose
  19. Third-tier play-off places up for grabspublished at 14:33 British Summer Time 3 May

    Scottish League 1

With Arbroath having secured the title, it is all about who fills which promotion play-off places in the third tier.

Cove Rangers and Queen of the South have guaranteed their play-off places, with Alloa Athletic a point ahead of Stenhousemuir in the final promotion play-off spot.

Any of those four could finish in the final play-off spot and face a semi-final against Airdrieonians, who finished second bottom in the Championship.

Dumbarton have already been relegated, with Annan Athletic in a play-off semi-final against the side finishing fourth in League 2.

    • Annan Athletic v Cove Rangers
    • Arbroath v Queen of the South
    • Kelty Hearts v Alloa Athletic
    • Montrose v Inverness Caledonian Thistle
    • Stenhousemuir v Dumbarton
  20. 'You have to trust the players' - Thelinpublished at 14:30 British Summer Time 3 May

    St Mirren v Aberdeen (15:00)

Aberdeen manager Jimmy Thelin tells BBC Scotland: "We have a strong character and mentality inside the squad.

"We went through some challenging parts of the season, but when a team can get out of this position and start performing well in the last part of the season, it's a good thing.

"You always have to trust the players, some parts they have to do really well as a team, but they also have to add their own qualities on the pitch.

"We know it's an important game and the three points would mean a lot, but it's a good opponent on the other side and we have to focus on what we can do."
