What a start here at St James Park!

First Reading went ahead as Jack Marriott poached a sixth-minute opener after Johnly Yfeko's poor back header.

But just five minutes later the scores are level - former Royal Jayden Wareham blasting in for his new club after a good ball by Reece Cole.

    This could be a cracker!

  2. League Two updatepublished at 15:13 BST 11 October

    #bbcefl

Harry McKirdy had the perfect chance to give Crawley the lead over table-toppers Walsall.

But the Saddlers man scuffed his penalty and Myles Roberts gently dived to his left to keep it out.

You don't want to be passing up those opportunities against Walsall.

  3. goal

GOAL: Exeter 1-1 Readingpublished at 15:12 BST 11 October

    Jayden Wareham (11 mins)

Against his former club... doesn't it always happen?

The Grecians waste no time getting back on level terms as they capitalise on some slack Royals defending on the right of the area to fire a low cross into the mixer for Jayden Wareham to lash a near-post finish high past Joel Pereira in the Reading goal.

Fine finish. Game very much on...

  4. YELLOW CARDpublished at 15:11 BST 11 October

    Stockport 0-0 Blackpool

Blackpool's Lee Evans puts in a really high leg on Odin Bailey and is put in the naughty book for his misdemeanour.

Maybe a little lucky that wasn't worse than it was.

  5. Postpublished at 15:11 BST 11 October

    AFC Wimbledon 0-0 Port Vale

Half a chance for Vale as George Byers' cross is met by the head of Ben Garrity but his effort is too close to keeper Nathan Bishop.

  6. 'That's intelligent from Gilbey'published at 15:10 BST 11 October

    Bristol Rovers 0-1 MK Dons

    Toby Lock
MK Citizen's sports editor on BBC Three Counties Radio

Alex Gilbey smashes it low and Alfie Kilgour sticks a foot out and turns it into his own net.

You don't have to pick someone out, when the box is crowded like that just putting it into that area causes problems.

    That's intelligent from Gilbey.

  7. goal

GOAL: Bristol Rovers 0-1 MK Donspublished at 15:08 BST 11 October

Alfie Kilgour own goal (8 mins)

The Dons are the kings of the road, and they lead inside 10 minutes.

Alex Gilbey has space on the left side of the box and shapes to cross, but it ends up being a low shot.

It takes a hefty deflection off Alfie Kilgour on its way in. Own goal or goal? The dubious goals panel will decide, but the undeniable is the visitors' lead.

  8. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 15:07 BST 11 October

    Northampton 1-0 Rotherham

It's back under way between Northampton and Rotherham and the latter have mad a mid-game switch.

Jordan Hugill replaces Reece James for the second-half.

  9. 'Vale defenders know they're in for a tough game'published at 15:07 BST 11 October

    Wimbledon 0-0 Port Vale

    Adam Yates
Former Vale defender on BBC Radio Stoke

Vale are away and so you'd expect them to go longer early on.

Wimbledon are quite physical they've got three big forwards and they're letting the Vale defenders know that they're in for a tough game.

Looking forward to these matches. As the follower of a Premier League side, the most frustrating thing reading these pages is to read a report of a goal, followed by the words "or is it? VAR will be taking a look at that". Long may the EFL remain VAR-free.

  11. goal

GOAL: Exeter 0-1 Readingpublished at 15:06 BST 11 October

    Jack Marriott (6 mins)

The Royals are marching early on... and so is Jack Marriott, that's five in five league games and a goal in all six starts in all competitions for the former Wrexham forward.

It's a nightmare for Jhonly Yfeko who tries to nod a bouncing ball in his box back to keeper Joe Whitworth but Marriott is on hand to apply a neat flick past the keeper and send the travelling fans wild.

  12. Postpublished at 15:06 BST 11 October

    Stockport 0-0 Blackpool

Nathan Lowe is making his first start for Stockport this afternoon and is clearly keen to make an impression.

He rifles a shot a goal but sees it blocked out. He gets another go later on but can't get a header onto target, though Blackpool can't quite clear it either.

It ends up falling for Kyle Wootton, whose strike tests Tangerines keeper Franco Ravizzoli.

Warning signs for Blackpool. This could be a very long afternoon.

  13. CLOSE!published at 15:06 BST 11 October

    Burton 0-0 Bolton

Burton's Finn Delap has saved a surefire goal here.

Sam Dalby latches onto a high ball, flicks it past the keeper and looks destined to score from a couple of yards out but Delap pops up out of nowhere to block his effort at the near post and keep the deadlock intact.

  14. Postpublished at 15:06 BST 11 October

    Bristol Rovers 0-0 MK Dons

As mentioned, Brad Young is in for his first league start of the season, and he has already made an important action.

Callum Paterson poked through Nathaniel Mendez-Laing on the counter, and it looks for all the world that it is about to become 1-0.

But the former Leicester goalkeeper hares off his line and smoothers the ball after a heavy Mendez-Laing touch.

Do you think perhaps, Ronnie isn’t being strictly even-handed?

    Steve, Bicester

This did make us laugh Steve! Ex-Rotherham boss Ronnie Moore certainly not sitting on the fence over the penalty call that gave Northampton the lead!

  16. Postpublished at 15:02 BST 11 October

    Burton 0-0 Bolton

Kegs Chauke, Dylan Williams and Fábio Tavares come into the starting lineup for the Brewers, with George Evans, Sebastian Revan and Tyrese Shade all unavailable.

Steven Schumacher has brought Aaron Morley, Ibrahim Cissoko and Sam Dalby into the Trotters XI.

  17. Postpublished at 15:02 BST 11 October

    Bristol Rovers 0-0 MK Dons

Rovers have been forced into one change with goalkeeper Luke Southwood on international duty with Northern Ireland. Brad Young takes his place.

But Darrell Clarke has made a second alteration from the defeat to Walsall, Clinton Mola has taken the place of the benched Bryant Bilongo – which will likely mean a switch from four to three at the back.

MK Dons are unchanged from the win over Gillingham.

  18. Postpublished at 15:01 BST 11 October

    Exeter 0-0 Reading

Akeel Higgins starts in place of Josh Magennis, away with Northern Ireland, in the only Grecians change from the dramatic win at Lincoln last time out.

Good news for Royals fans as summer signing Paudie O'Connor makes his debut while Matt Ritchie is handed a first start.

Jack Marriott is targeting a sixth goal in his first six starts in all competitions.

  19. Postpublished at 15:01 BST 11 October

    AFC Wimbledon 0-0 Port Vale

Marcus Browne and Riley Harbottle return to the Dons XI for this one, with Ryan Johnson and Lyles Hippolyte unavailable.

Fit-again Ben Amos makes his first start of the season in goal for Vale and Ben Heneghan, former Don Ronan Curtis and Ryan Croasdale are recalled and George Hall makes his first league start for the visitors.

Darren Moore has four strikers and no defenders on the bench. Buckle up, Valiants...

  20. KICK-OFFpublished at 15:00 BST 11 October

    Right then.

We are half way through our game at Sixfields. Our 3pm games are just getting underway. More to come from League Two when Oldham host Barrow later on.

    Oooo isn't it exciting!
