    Northampton 0-0 Rotherham

Cobblers forward Jack Vale is down to receive treatment after clutching at his hamstring.

Could we see an early introduction for Ethan Wheatley?

  2. 'Got to take those chances'published at 14:17 BST 11 October

    Northampton 0-0 Rotherham

    Ronnie Moore
Ex-Rotherham manager on BBC Radio Sheffield

With Joe Powell and Reece James down this left hand side we're causing them problems.

We've just got to take those chances.

  3. CLOSE!published at 14:17 BST 11 October

    Northampton 0-0 Rotherham

Now it's Rotherham forward Martin Sherif time to have a pop at goal.

He aims straight but it drags just wide of the target.

The Millers are really threatening in these early stages. They've managed four shots at goal already and we are only early into double figures on the clock.

  4. Postpublished at 14:15 BST 11 October

    Northampton 0-0 Rotherham

Reece James delivers a delicious ball into the box for his Rotherham teammate Shaun McWilliams but the forward can't guide it on target.

McWilliams is familiar with the Cobblers home stands having joined the Millers from Sixfields last summer but his reunion wouldn't have been a welcome one if he would have found an opener then.

  5. 'He's got out of jail there'published at 14:11 BST 11 October

    Northampton 0-0 Rotherham

    Ronnie Moore
Ex-Rotherham manager on BBC Radio Sheffield

Josh Benson is thankful because he was sleeping on the back post. He's got out of jail there.

You can't sleep, you want to keep people like Benson who can't defend away from there, leave him forward because they then have to leave a few men to pick him up.

  6. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 14:11 BST 11 October

    Northampton 0-0 Rotherham

Northampton earn the first corner of the evening and immediately find the net.

Terry Taylor swings in the delivery to meet Sam Hoskins' head but his nod into goal is chalked off thanks to the flag rustling high in the air for offside.

  7. 'It's amazing quite how far wide it's gone'published at 14:09 BST 11 October

    Northampton 0-0 Rotherham

    Ronnie Moore
Ex-Rotherham manager on BBC Radio Sheffield

It's a great ball in by Benson and Denzel Hall has all the time in the world he didn't have to volley it.

It's amazing quite how far wide it's gone.

We've started quite well early on.

Five minutes in and Rotherham have already mounted two shots.

Joe Powell tries his luck from distance but his effort is no where near the target, while Denzel Hall's strike from the box is not much closer.

  9. KICK-OFFpublished at 14:00 BST 11 October

Sixfields is ready to kick us off.

Settled in yet? The day is just getting started and it begins right... now.

  10. Both sides make triple changepublished at 13:57 BST 11 October

Northampton make a triple change ahead of their hosting duties.

Kamarai Swyer, Jack Perkins and Jack Vale come into the side.

Ethan Wheatley is rested on the bench as he returns from international duty with England's Under-20s but Cameron McGeehan and Michael Forbes aren't available.

No Lenny Agbaire, Ar'jany Martha nor Kion Etete for Rotherham to see them also change three.

Martin Sherif impressed off the bench last time out to earn himself a start.

Zak Jules and Shaun Mcwilliams join him to make up the XI.

  11. Millers aim for first taste of away joy at Sixfieldspublished at 13:55 BST 11 October

    Northampton v Rotherham (14:00 BST)

Rotherham haven't won in eight away games since their victory at Bolton on 8 April and while they would love to break that duck today, hosts Northampton Town will not make an easy meal of it.

The Cobblers might not be on the upper end of the table but when it comes to games at Sixfields, they've only lost once this season and won all of their last three games on home soil.

And this is the match to kick off a new segment for Northampton, who are looking to make huge strides over their next 10 games.

"The start's ok, we're fairly satisfied but to be a League One team going forward we have to improve from where we are at the minute," technical director Colin Calderwood told BBC Radio Northampton.

"Ten games is a real good indication of whether you're capable, we are, whether you're resilient, we've shown enough of that, and the improvement now has to come between now and game 20.

"We do another 10 games and look to finish at least where we are now, and try to achieve something a little better."

    • Rotherham United have won each of their past five league games against Northampton Town, keeping a clean sheet in each of their last four against the Cobblers.
    • Northampton have lost just one of their last six league games (W4 D1), keeping a clean sheet during each victory in this run.
    • Rotherham’s return of eight points through their opening 10 league games this season is their lowest tally at this stage of a third-tier campaign since 1996-97, a season during which they suffered relegation.

With the top-four all out of action due to international call-ups, AFC Wimbledon have the chance to close the gap at the top this afternoon as they welcome their old League Two rivals Port Vale to Plough Lane.

Stockport, Bolton and Doncaster will also seek to strengthen their hand in the push for the play-offs at 15:00 BST.

At the other end the table might have a very different look come tea-time as eight of the bottom nine teams are in action, starting with Rotherham in a few minutes, seeking to extend their lead over basement-boys Peterborough, whose clash with leaders Stevenage was also postponed.
