Claudio Braga makes it 3-0 to Hearts on 62 minutes
Hearts scored four goals for the fourth successive Premier Sports Cup match, easing past Dumbarton at Tynecastle to ensure passage to the last 16 on maximum points.
Claudio Braga made it three goals in three games, while fellow summer signing Alexandros Kyziridis made it two from two.
Lawrence Shankland had headed the hosts in front, with Michael Steinwender nodding home in first-half stoppage time.
The captain struck on 17 minutes, stopping low to divert a lovely cross from Stephen Kingsley into the bottom corner.
The League 2 visitors dug in valiantly under waves of pressure but fell further behind when Steinwender rose to power in a corner.
Dumbarton were not seen much as an attacking force but did give the hosts a fright in the first minute of the second half when Scott Tomlinson's excellent shot struck the crossbar.
Kyziridis was introduced at half-time and the Greek winger scored the pick of the bunch, cutting inside before thumping a shot in off the post.
Braga took over from Shankland just after the hour and 10 minutes later the Portuguese striker was celebrating after slamming a cut-back from Cammy Devlin into the net.
A good night for the Edinburgh side appeared to end on a bit of a sour note, with Frankie Kent forced off holding his hamstring, but head coach Derek McInnes later described the substitution as "precautionary".
